I am very interested in what people are saying about “Hermosa Highlands” Has anyone on this forum purchased property there? I have spoken to sales people on the phone and they were the only ones who were not overly aggressive with the cheap sales talk, but again, that doesn’t mean anything. I’ve purchased property from another developer and things are fine but I wanted to make another Costa Rican land purchase for investment and don’t know where or who to go with. When I inquire I get inundated with dozens of phone calls from companies who all say pretty much the same things and I decided to ask this forum’s members for some help? If anyone knows about or has purchased property at HERMOSA HIGHLANDS I would appreciate hearuing from you either here or directly at my e-mail address, thanks very much.

p.s. Has anyone done business with Wellington Asset Mgt?
I contacted them initially and decided I was not interested and now they will not stop bothering me , always a new “Closer” trying to change my mind, getting fed up with the calls at this point.geminigioMemberSo, did you meet with him? geminigioMemberI’m posting this message today to inform prospective buyers and those who have already bought property in Costa Rica. By now you have read many of the negative and positive comments that members have made about different developers in CR. Many of us “agree to disagree” as to which developers are good and which ones are not. I purchased 3 lots from Costa Developers in December 2006 and my experience has been good. Recently my wife and I decided to invest further in CR property and contacted 6 companies at random (I will not mention names here, but anyone who wishes to know who I’m talking about can contact me and I’ll be happy to discuss my experiences with the companies.)
what I can tell you is that at first I thought Scott Oliver’s opinions were rather harsh and one-sided when it came to who he would recommend and who he would not, but that has changed significantly. I recently contacted a company who is recommended by Scott Oliver on this website and they were the most professional and courteous, no pressure companies that I have been in touch with and it makes a very big difference, chances are that I will do business with this company over the other 6 I have recently had the experience of talking to.
Like I said, I’ll be happy to talk to anyone interested but I will not put anything in writing here in this forum because my experiences were just too, too negative and I don’t want any backlash from anyone.Good luck to all of you,

geminigioMembercheck your facts, Costa developers has completed residential Developements in the United States. The information is easily obtainable and a matter of public record so I suggest you do some research before making false statements in writing , which is against the law, it is called LIABLE…For starters you can check out the projects they completed in Palm beach County Florida in the 80’s and 90’s, very easy to access this info. I’d like to see you post an apology for false staements once you get the facts.

geminigioMemberyou are correct. At first I didn’t want to say too much because I wasn’t sure how much I should reveal about myself and personal business and I was hoping for some candid comments(replies) but then I saw that this topic was talked about regularly and after reading further I realized that it was okay to mention companies and people by name etc. and so I felt more comfortable. I do in fact own property at Esterillos, 3 lots, purchased them in December 06. As far as due dilligence I did research this subject for abour 3-4 months before sending my deposit for the first lot and when i went down to inspect my wife and I decided to purchase 2 more because we felt the dicount was substantial and that we could make some decent profit off of the property in the next few years. To address the “Sleuth” quote I made, I was only making a point about the negativity and did not intend for the comment to insult anyone and if I did I am sorry. I just don’t understand all the negative comments people are making and many who are making these comments have no idea what they are talking about since most have not actually been to CR or the properties they are commenting on, do you understand what I mean? I appreciate you addressing me in this forum and hope you will continue to write to me again, thanks for your thoughts,

geminigioMemberOh no jmorberg, this can’t be! I believe you must be a plant because your post sounds too positive ….lol…
Thanks for the valuable info. my friend,
Artie giordanogeminigioMemberAccording to MSG1014, if anyone says anything remotely positive , well then, it must be a plant! Almost sounds like this person needs to prove something, doesn’t it….Does she work for a competitor or something?
geminigioMemberCosta Developers has completed many projects in Florida, all of you master detectives out there couldn’t come up with that bit of information?….Check out there completed projects in Palm Beach County Florida
geminigioMemberWell, let’s not make what I said LARGER than what I said, ok…I don’t believe I made saints off all who own and work for Costa Developers. I am also not a “mooch” I have been investing in Real Estate for many years and I am insulted at the term, you don’t know me to say something like that. And this is exactly what I’m talking about folks. It seems you many of you want to show what great detectives you are at uncovering some big land conspiracy or something…I did my due dilligence and I stand behind Costa Developers…They have not broken any laws, both Esterillos and Montanya are ahead of schedule (many months ahead)and they are aligned with other excellent companies on these projects ans so think what you will of me I’m standing behind what I said earlier……………ARTIE GIORDANO
geminigioMemberRebecca, my name is Artie Giordano..I visited Costa Montanya in late December and the project was moving along..when I was there visiting the model they were beginning work on 2 other models. It sound to me like you did your homework having American and CR lawyers look at the this contract. I bought 3 lots at Esterillos and feel confident with this company…Yes, there does seem to be some real serious information about Ellis Kahn and it cannot be ignored obviously, but that does not mean that Costa Developers are scamming people becasue one person in the company has has legal problems in the past…I don’t want to sound naive but I think many people are worrying way too much here. You did your due dilligence…just like i did……That’s all you can really do, right? What’s to say if we bought from a Developer in the USA that we would not come up with someone in the firm with a shady background at one time or another? I think if we dig deep enough we cn find shady people at every level of just about every business known to man….We made a good investment, have faith, you did the right thing and so did I.feel free to contact me anytime,
Artie giordanogeminigioMemberYes, I have been to these projects…My name is Artie Giordano and I live in New York, USA. I had the opportunity to visit Costa Rica in Late December, 2006 and found nothing but professional and genuinely nice people working at Costa Developers. After a very long day visiting these projects we headed back to Costa Developers offices. It was late, we were tired and we informed the staff that we were not ready to make a decision on a land purchase that night but that we would be happy to sit down with them again before we left the Costa Rica, sometime over the weekend. They were completely understanding and we felt absolutely no pressure to sign anything until we had a good nights rest and plenty of time talk with my wife and make our decision. They were agreeable and pleasant and so we met with them for lunch the next day at our hotel. The next day we met with Joe Beers, the Marketing Director for Costa Developers and Arnaldo Bonillla who is the Attorney handling their Real Estate Transactions. I can’t tell you how impressed we were when Arnaldo showed up at the lunch meeting with his wife and two young daughters. Arnaldo had planned to be with his wife and little girls that day but still made sure he was at the meeting to cross the t’s and dot the I’s and to answer our questions and make us comfortable with the deal. Not only were we impressed with this man as an Attorney but also a loving family man which we appreciated very much, who wouldn’t be impressed by this man?
I’ve read some very negative things in this forum about Costa Developers and besides a very aggressive Florida phone sales staff, I don’t believe any of these things and I think those of you that are getting nervous about Costa developers shouldn’t be..I’m not saying not to be cautious, (you should always practice due dilligence of course)but I honestly feel that this company is getting a negative image stamped on them and I’m not sure that it is accurate at all.
anyone wishing to exchange information can feel free to contact me anytime. I purchased 3 beautiful lots at Esterillos and will be visiting the site again in May, i’m vacationing in CR for 3 weeks or so, and I can update you personally on the progress I observe. artie & Luz Giordano, home phone number is 347-964-5768geminigioMemberI’d be interested in hearing what negative things you heard about Costa Developers because I was impressed by their sales people and was thinking of looking into some properties they have..I was not impressed with Paragon at all and felt they were not professional on the phone when I contacted them, I have since heard some very negative things about that company. Please feel free to contact me about this (or anthing else costa rica :)for that matter, looking forward to seing your reply,
