hi scott……your article regarding military use to affect the drug trade is interesting to me. and with your particular brand of military experience, i.e. up close and personal, with fal or m-16 en mano, you are quite well qualified to weigh in on the subject. i don’t do facebook, so i hope you will accept the invited comment input on this channel. my comment is: there is something you have missed. something BIG!!!
from cr it might be more difficult to notice, but the u.s. government these days is comprised of the largest team of incompetents ever assembled in one country. with a congressional approval rate of 13%, the people of this country are well aware that the president, vice president, speaker of the house, and probably 80% of the 535 members of congress who operate beneath them comprise a unique group of arrogant morons. it is our own fault, since they were apparently elected fairly. with voter fraud rampant through acorn and union activity, even that statement could be suspect, but they hold office for now and they rule the country as they wish, trashing the constitution at will most days of the week.
what that translates to: please do not expect a lot from us, a country ruled by fools. most of the folks holding high office in the obama government have never even had a job in private industry. any job. never even run a lemonade stand. they have no idea what to do in a crisis situation except to sue someone who has offended them, and try to bring them to court where a judge on their payroll can read the sentence. be thankful that a military run by those fools is not discharging weapons in cr waters, especially unmanned weapons. i think our military is the best there is, absolutely, but the rules of engagement they follow that are put upon them by the fools on high would make your head spin. please wait until we are competently led, and our government is qualified and trustworthy before you as costa ricans start requesting that we shoot people in boats and airplanes who look suspicious. as you would well know, once the bullet leaves the barrel, none can call it back.just an input from a geriatric ex-mil and ex-airline airplane driver who has spent a bit of time down there and really likes the place. and the people. i fear, and absolutely do not trust, the present,u.s. government, and i am but one of millions of such people, and just wish to call your attention to a facet of it of which you may be unaware. thank you for inviting comments on the subject, and i will look forward to learning what other people think. not only about our government, but about the pervasive drug culture of a large population of inhabitants which appears to be the genesis of the whole problem.
ggp, an american who respects your country and those who live there
