We rent because at the present time we are unable to be in Costa Rica permanently, and it saves us the hassle of owning a vehicle. Having said that, we do have friends who visit for 6 months and they bought a car and store it with friends they have in CR. An arrangement they are very happy with. As for rental rates, they are posted on the web page. I think $39 a day for high season.
happygirlMemberWe have been renting from Dean’s renta4x4incostarica for 5 or more years, sometimes twice a year, and have never had a bad experience yet. This time we are renting for 5 months – find it much easier than owing a vehicle.
happygirlMemberI think, not easy. I am happy we have our residency and don’t have to go through all this hassle. Nothing is ever easy in Costa Rica! But, oh, what a country! I love it.
happygirlMemberAs you are probably aware by now Scott, there is an interview in today’s Tico Times between Chrissie Long and the Immigration Director Mario Zamora. He says in the interview if you own a home worth more than $200,000 you can solicit residency as an investor. However, you also have to give a lot of details as to how you are going to contribute to economic and social development. As I haven’t got the paper in front of me, perhaps Scott you can elaborate a bit more on this article.
happygirlMemberknickers in a knot?
happygirlMemberRoughly Scott, from Escazu, it is on the road that goes down past the country club, on the right hand side (east?)diagonal to a small nursery. They also have great fish and chips on a Friday night.
happygirlMemberAs far as I know the car radio wont work there. This is according to my “geek” son-in-law.Too far south or some such thing. I am not really up on this high tech stuff.
happygirlMemberI subscribe to Sirius on my laptop, plug in my wireless speaker box and voila, have perfect Sirius radio.
happygirlMember“We haven’t stop the process and we will not stop it ,we are doing right now the closing structure of the big overhangs of the roof , working in the reinforcement needed to suit the elevators equipment and electrical and plumbing necessarily to continue with the finish part of the walls , also tracing walls in the PH” This is a quote I received from Fabio moments ago also an accompanying picture showing the workmen on the roof. Don’t worry,I am confident that this project is going to be finished.
happygirlMemberNot yet, but I will certainly be looking into it!
happygirlMemberAs far as i know Ana is off on sick leave. Maybe Scott could give you my email address and I could fill you in a bit more.
happygirlMemberThanks Mac. Hopefully we can get together sometime in the near future for drinks down in Puerto Azul. You should get in touch with them because there has been changes to the original plan. One change, there is only two towers planned now instead of the original four.
happygirlMemberWell that is really none of my business. That is between you and him.
happygirlMemberI have been in touch with Fabio Lemos today and he assures me that everything is going along on schedule.
happygirlMemberAha OK, that would be a good reason. Good luck in your new home!
