I talked to my “geek” son-in-law and his answer was “No” for Xm but “yes” for Sirius.
happygirlMemberthanks for your advice pallin. I will probably end up saying not to worry about it!
happygirlMemberThis was a wonderful article, and I found it very helpful. Now, perhaps someone can help me with a dilema I have! We will be arriving in Costa Rica Saturday, and have been invited to our Tico friends house for dinner that evening. Of course I have purchased gifts to take for the family, in the meantime (yesterday) I was asked if I could do a favour for them! Naturally, I said yes. Do I take the money offered, or do I say “no” its a gift. This favor cost me about $40, which I have no problem with, however, I don’t want to offend them by taking the money or refusing the money. What would be the correct procedure here?
happygirlMemberyes, but I remember (in Britain) when all milk was delivered door to door, before bottling and put in whatever containers were on the doorstep, before homogenizing and pasteurization and even back then the cows had to be TB tested, and I never heard of anyone getting TB. Also our herd,(in Canada) had to be tested for TB regularly. I guess it is better we have all these safeguards now, what with “mad cow” and “foot and mouth” deseases etc. Just be thankful your milk doesn’t come from China! LOL
happygirlMemberyes rebargon, right on, more for aesthetic reasons I think than anything else. Pasteurizing was for killing bacteria (which nowadays we should have in our guts). I guess a lot of people don’t like the look of cream on the top, personally, I couldn’t wait to skim it off, for coffee or whipping cream or sometimes even for butter. Now everything is for the masses, and of course for the dairies to make more money.
happygirlMemberYes it was raw milk they ingested, and by the way, my “babies” are now 48, 46, 45 44 and 42 years old! LOL
happygirlMemberHere is more news today of this terrible tragedy http://www.insidecostarica.com/ I never saw or heard a mention of it in the Canadian news.
happygirlMemberThere are also claims that margarine is one molecule away from plastic. Our farm has been in the family for six generations, and as far as I know, never has anyone eaten anything but homegrown produce, be it meat, dairy or vegetables and no-one in the family has ever suffered from high cholestrol. In fact when each one of our children were born we selected one cow from the herd and they had whole milk from that particular cow the first year of their lives. Needless to say they are all in the best of health.

happygirlMemberThis is a great article Shelley and one to be heeded by anyone thinking of a move to Costa Rica. I actually had a huge argument with these same people at the Toronto Home Show; they were promising an international airport that they said was already built among other things! My husband eventually dragged me away as I was creating a bit of a disturbance because there was more of a crowd listening to what I had to say. In hindsight it must have seemed like a funny spectacle to the onlookers. Oh well…..
happygirlMemberThis site might help you with regards to showing you what is available and cost.http://www.sarchimuebles.com/
happygirlMemberWhy would you want a hand gun in Costa Rica in the first place?
happygirlMemberYou could try http://www.costaricayachtclub.com/ or http://www.puertoazulcr.com I know the latter has a regatta, which this year was held in June.
happygirlMemberBetter not go! Check out http://www.amcostarica.com/ for details.
happygirlMemberI’m sure your Bank of Montreal card will work just as well. There are lots of ATM’s available now in Costa Rica. I have had no trouble finding them, even in beach areas.
