Just an update… I heard the news today that the US government is looking at a 10% tax on cosmetic surgery as one of the possible revenue streams to fund this national health plan… as I said… let me see the plan and how you’re going to fund it before we force a vote! We really don’t need to embark on another “new deal” that gets old quickly and saddles our grandchildren with debt that will haunt them their entire lives!

Show me a PLAN… tell me how it will be PAID FOR… and then we can have a REAL discussion…. so far it’s all smoke and mirrors… and not something ANYONE should be voting on! Part of the push now is that Obama and the boyz are losing political capital and folks are asking too many questions! A couple of teleprompter breakdowns and a president that makes some comments about a situation he knew nothing about have stated to open the eyes of the public… let’s hope they don’t fall back asleep!

As for how the plan will take shape and provide for folks… the Wall Street Journal had a great article today… food for thought on the plan 99% of the general public will be “enjoying” while those that are designing it (politicians and staff) continue to be served rather well on YOUR dime!!

David… I guess putting a hit out on the bad doctors would thin the herd and bring the standards up a bit!

Hey Ed…. How about the politicians PUSHING this change just come up with a REAL FIRM PLAN that we can all look at and discuss. I read about all different PLANS…. all different ways it’s going to be FUNDED…. how it’s going to work side by side with EXISTING plans… how EVERYONE will be included…. how it will BENEFIT EVERYONE… how it won’t cost folks MORE… yet I haven’t seen a plan that we can discuss that has any real SUBSTANCE… all smoke and mirrors… yet Obama is pushing for a vote! Unless Joe Biden found a money tree in his yard it’s going to cost SOMEONE…. and that someone will be the same folks that are placed on the hook for every other government program out there….

Perhaps before we create ANOTHER giant government program that will make Medicare and Social Security look small in comparison … we should have some clue as to how it will work… and more importantly… WHO and HOW it will be paid for… or perhaps you’re happy how the two GIANT social programs I mentioned have panned out?

Let’s get real… Social Security and Medicare are ticking time bombs… and what are the folks in Washington talking about… creating a BIGGER bomb that our child and grandchildren will be dealing with!

“You’d have to pry it from their cold dead hands.” That is until you see the true COST of this plan Obama is working on!

Part of the BIG problem I see is that they don’t have a FIRM plan or cost to present for consideration. Nor do they have a FIRM plan for paying for it! Yet it seems we’re all being rushed into a vote! It’s bad enough most of our elected officials don’t read the the bills they vote on now! This proposal will be a MONSTER… and could very well be the straw that breaks the camel’s back! They have to get it right before they push a vote! Nine zeros of new government spending/debt is not something ANYONE should be taking lightly! Don’t think for a moment that our creditors (Asia/Middle East) aren’t watching this and are VERY concerned about the dollars they’re holding. We’re getting dangerously close to having our credit cut off… and when that happens… this ship is going down fast… very fast!

If a 1/3 of the things I saw listed in the review of this proposal above are true… the US taxpayer is doomed!

No taxes due… just the bank transfer fees! As I said… should be around $75 total… not a big deal! It might be a good idea to transfer the funds to their (your folks) account, if they have one in CR, and have access to the money at the time the deal closes rather than transferring the money directly to the seller. The tractor might be held in a S.A. (Corp) and before you close the deal it would be a good idea to have an attorney check it out for you!

Good luck… any other questions just ask.

Good point… but perhaps this doctor is ahead of the curve on things…. without deep pockets (Insurance or other hard assets) there isn’t a lawyer out there that would take the case of someone wanting to sue the doctor. Asset protection is an up and coming field that’s seeing a lot of attention the last few years. I followed some basic planning that has, for the most part, made me “judgment proof” in the US. I can think of several ways a doctor could structure this “business” to protect himself from lawyers looking to feed on him or his insurance.

As for doctors and the lawsuits they have to deal with… no doubt there are some bad ones out there. But remember… life itself is a fatal condition that we can only manipulate to a minor degree. And sometimes… not at all! And as unfair as that is at times we shouldn’t look to blame the doctor. Not every outcome is going to be good, not every result is what we want… but does that mean we have to blame those doctors that do their best and have to deal with surviving family that want to second guess (or get rich) on a negative result?

Perhaps if more doctors took the approach of dropping the insurance we’d see a drop in the suits seeking compensation for outcomes beyond their control!

I’ve transferred more than $10,000 to CR several times over the past 5 years as well as smaller amounts over the 3K….. and have NEVER had a knock on the door! There are bank reporting requirements that go on in the “new world”… but when you’re not doing anything illegal… why worry!

More paper loins that people fear…. I’ve also been through US Customs dozens of times and NEVER had a bag searched… all part of the pretend homeland security service and the BILLIONS Uncle Sam is spending to keep America “safe”!

It’s as simple as a trip down to your bank and completing an international wire transfer request! You’ll need the “Swift” info for the receiving bank (Bank name, routing, receivers name, and account number) and to have the funds available on your end. There’s a fee involved at your bank and the receiving bank might have one as well. The fees will be less than $75 total I’d guess. Pretty straight forward I’ve done it several times. There are federal reporting requirements that the bank will take care of, but as for complications… there should be none if all the info is correct and your bank knows what they’re doing.

While it’s not my business… please tell me your folks aren’t wiring a deposit on a real estate deal sight unseen! If that IS the case… the complications come later!!!! When they try to get their money back! LOL

Great point John! If only Paragon was allowed to post ads and folks followed your idea… there would be a few thousand less ripped off disappointed lot owners out there! I can’t wait to see the fall-out on that mess. The pictures Scott posted did have a natural rustic look to them… however I think the folks that spent the big $$$$ for those lots were hoping not to have to rough camp at their new homes!

Sprite…. the answer is really quite simple… these “Banana Republics” as you call them need to keep armies around in case the head chimp loses it and the other, apparently more reasonable chimps, need to be put him in his place…. as we’ve just witnessed in Honduras.
