ImxploringParticipant
Looks like another scam outfit selling CR real estate out of a PO BOX in Miami…. using the “send money first” act as if there’s a rush to get in on the action! Looks a lot like the Paragon deal… “give us all your money NOW and we’ll build the infrastucture later… we promise!”…. And it’s all backed by a “money back” promise!!! Heck, they even have the wiring information on their site so you can send your money quicker!!!
All you need do is look at their sales contract to know it’s a bogus deal… it’s in ENGLISH! I believe CR law requires that the contract and related documents must be in SPANISH… and I’d bet they’re not even registered in the US to do business…
Do yourself a favor… listen to Scott on this one…
ImxploringParticipantTwo issues… if you’re leaving the US you’ll have to declare the coins if they meet the reporting requirements… as for putting them in a shipping container… you’d be best off just throwing them into the ocean… I would NOT advise placing anything of such value and portability in a shipping container.
ImxploringParticipantWhy not take them on the plane? They’re not a prohibited item…put them in your carry on. As far as the TSA screeners are concerned… a bag of half dollars or gold eagles look the same on the screen. I’ve carried all sorts of things through screening. If your concern is that they’ll set off a problem at SJO… use the bathroom in the luggage area and put them in your pocket before they x-ray your bags. As a collection I don’t think they’d give you a problem, however, because of the value they might hit you for a customs fee. Better NOT to have them know since carrying such a sum would no doubt make you a target outside the doors at the airport! I wouldn’t even think of shipping them!
ImxploringParticipantIt’s a wait and see game as to how (and IF) these new proposals go through. With a family of five I’m guessing some will be minor children? I’d hope that the new rules will provide allowances for minor children, if not the idea of relocating with a young family would be cost prohibitive for most folks! Unless of course you have the money tree growing in the yard back home as some Tico’s believe! LOL
ImxploringParticipantPerhaps they’ll be replacing them with a new Chinese section… Oscar does seem to have a plan… but I think you’re giving him much too much credit! LOL
ImxploringParticipantAlways smiling… gets you much further in CR then raising your voice! 🙂
ImxploringParticipantI’m am sorry if that’s how it appears! A passion sometimes blinds you to the way to present it to others, and for that I am once again sorry.
As for the lying cop quote…. a quick check check doesn’t have me using “I don’t know, but” (your quotes)… perhaps I missed that. Perhaps you’d like to expand on the point I was making inwhich you feel my position was somehow compromised?
As for the sound bites comment… that was intended to be a half hearted joke… hence the “LOL” (laughing out loud) after the comment. Once again… not intended to be insulting or implying that someone is inferior. Just a sad commentary on an ever increasing part of the general public. The folks on this board are beyond that, they’ve done (or are doing) their research because they see the big picture and the direction this world is going.
I’ll do my best to be graceful… add what I can… and challenge that which I see as something which needs be.
But perhaps you’d like to do the same, while I appreciate your comment that I at times “impart some wisdom to this site” you’ve used words and terms like “condescending”, “like a cop lying”, “someone you undoubtedly consider inferior”, ” insulting”, and “your our own lacking grace…and knowledge”…. yet you’ve added nothing to this discussion or challenged the content or my views.
If you’d like to debate the issues I’m more than willing to do so, and I promise to do so without personal attacks and the use of such terms, as I have always done. Perhaps you’d like to do the same?

ImxploringParticipantPerhaps my neighbor is too busy doing his best to keep his head above water… there will always be leaders and followers… governments hope for more folllowers then leaders.
Just because “everyone” will be taxed the same doesn’t mean it’s right.
As for the zero’s… the idea is NOT to add more!
ImxploringParticipantScott… Nice touch on the topic…
Reading the (Germany) memo you can almost hear the conversations taking place with his top advisors… straight forward, to the point, and in plain and simple context… don’t we all wish the leaders of today had such quailities!
Still… you’ve got to love his quote!
ImxploringParticipantSorry about the CAPS when it comes to some of my points… but you can’t underline words here that are important. As for the sound bites… isn’t that all that Americans can understand these days? Ask them to sit and research a topic and they’re lost! LOL Sound bites are what get the politicians elected… the substance behind those “bites” has been lacking for many years!
There’s a saying that’s been thrown around a lot lately…. “Privatize Profits, Socialize Losses” I guess that applies to corporate America as well as society! That’s part of the problem. It’s an attitude both on the individual level as well as the corporate level. Get all you can… but when things go bad… let someone else pick up the tab!
Now Detriot is looking for the next handout…. after YEARS (sorry about that Hombre) of making BAD choices! The wrong cars… poor fuel economy… Oversized SUVs…. MUSCLE cars with “hemi” engines…. are they kidding me? And now they’re at the brink of failure? Who would have guessed!!! LOL They’ve already increased the $$$ they’re looking for from Washington… and PLEASE mark my words… failure of the government to give them everything they want will somehow become a racial issue… I’m sure that comment will get some heated replies… but please… just tuck it under your pillow and leave it there.
There’s some REAL pain coming to the US… and for those folks reading this board… and those that have made the move or are thinking about CR… you know that already! THAT’S why you’re here… you’ve seen the signs and know something has to give.
As to the topic of this thread… why do YOU think CR is trying to increase the $$$ requirements for residency?
Hombre… Not Rush… but as much as I hate the guy… he does make a good point now and then… he just needs to look a little deeper into issues and history.

ImxploringParticipantLotus…. I LOVE the Churchill quote…. and that was a guy who should know! He had his hands full! I was laughing for quite some time with that quote! LOL
I think we agree somewhat… and the current answer that government seems to have is just throwing money at problems… not looking to solve them or address the REASONS behind them! And now we’ve raised a society that’s use to that approach!
Have a great weekend!
ImxploringParticipant“Socialists mainly share the belief that capitalism unfairly concentrates power and wealth among a small segment of society that controls capital and creates an unequal society. All socialists advocate the creation of an egalitarian society, in which wealth and power are distributed more evenly, although there is considerable disagreement among socialists over how, and to what extent this could be achieved.”
When they us the word “distributed”… just think of the term “spread the wealth around”! LOL
“Egalitarianism is a political doctrine that holds that all people should be treated as equals and have the same political, economic, social, and civil rights. Generally it applies to being held equal under the law and society at large. In actual practice, one may be considered an egalitarian in most areas listed above, even if not subscribing to equality in every possible area of individual difference.”
The BIG problem is the mindset of many people in the US… the current ENTITLEMENT attutude will doom this to failure.
The other problem is that to make such a system work…. government will have to go back to the same well they dip into for every expense… the middle class… the fat part of the bell curve…. and they’ve had enough already!
ImxploringParticipantReal nice report with the photos! You seem to do a great job keeping an eye on things for clients. That’s the way it should be done for anyone wondering! Once again, nice job!
ImxploringParticipantLotus…. the handouts started a long time ago with the “New Deal” and FDR! The BIG difference was that to help the nation recover we had massive WORK programs that the government funded to get people back on their feet, put money in their pockets, gave them a sense of pride and self worth, pushed the economy towards recovery, and benefited the nation! People WANTED the work and were HAPPY to have a job to earn their keep and feed their families. THAT was the right idea…. not programs that just hand out money like this “Tax stimulus” garbage! Just handing out money is NOT the answer… even to over taxed working people paying taxes! Just like throwing money at Wall Street and Detriot will NOT be the answer to those problems!
FDR knew that not only did we need to put money into the hands of the people to get the economy going…. but we needed to keep the “work to get ahead” idea alive! Some how that morphed into the problem we have now…. people feeling they’re ENTITLED to a living at the expense of others, without the need to work or make good choices.
There will always be the poor and others that need our help… and we must provide for them… that’s what makes us human…. but we need to STOP the tidal wave that’s hit the US! It has nothing to do with class war… just a desire to see government require that people make GOOD choices and not reward folks that do otherwise. Why do folks in the social safety net seem to have no problems bringing more into the world when they can’t even provide for themselves? You have to rent the movie “Idiocracy”… it really hits the nail on the head… and will make you laugh while providing a VERY sobering view of where we’re headed if nothing changes in the US!
What do you honestly think would happen in the US if Obama came out with massive WORK programs like FDR’s on Jan 20th to get the US moving? There would be lawsuits…. legal challenges…. cry’s from the masses that they can’t do it… but would rather stay home (insert your excuse here) and have the check mailed to the house!
Welfare and other programs were NEVER intended to become a lifestyle…rather a safety net to get you back on your feet! Good hardworking people that have fallen on hard times NEED that help… and those that ARE of the right mindset work hard to get off that assistance and get back to work…. because it’s the right thing to do! Bogus claims of disability are all over… just look at what’s going on back in NY with the railroad…. 90% of their retirees are going out on “disability” when in fact they’re NOT! Collecting inflated pensions and not paying taxes. And that’s the TIP of the iceberg when you look at what’s going on nationwide. Some people have no desire to work when they have the choice to do otherwise.
Having paid over $30,000 in taxes last year to dear Uncle Sam (and that’s not even attempting to calculate out all the OTHER taxes they get via other streams…. yes they hit you from so many angles it’s IMPOSSIBLE to nail it down) I for one would LOVE to know where my money is going…. and as for the new administration… I’m sure (infact I have NO doubt) they’ll be looking to take a BIGGER bite (not ALL) of my income to make it all right! But if the current mindset and plan is followed we’re just in for MORE problems! I refuse to continue to support a failed system that makes bad choice after bad choice…. should we see a works program that gets people back to work and addresses energy issues… I’ll write the check now!
We can agree that war and other expenses the US is footing right now are a big drain… we’ve been the world’s policeman for too long… time to give up on some areas of the world as we did in Somalia… others such as the middle east present a different problem with the our oil based economy… moving the US toward energy independence would kill two birds with one stone… time to let the WORLD deal with their problems and let the chips fall where they may!
ImxploringParticipantGood Point! But no matter how much you make it’s never fun to see your hard earned income taken from you before YOU get it to pay for programs that reward people that DON’T want to work! As for moving out of the US… until the “program” changes and we see some REAL change in the mentality of entitlement in the US… CR is looking better each day!
As for getting your money off shore… leverage your holdings in the US… invest off shore… and wait for the bottom to fall out in the US. This way all your “debts” are in the US and your assets off shore!
It’s going to be very interesting as to how they bail out Detroit next… if my calulations are correct the FIRST $50 billion they’re planning on throwing at the problem (it’s only the start) would buy 1.66 MILLION people nice new $30,000 cars! What a novel idea…. rather than just give the big three a blank check… Uncle Sam buys the cars and gives them to the taxpayers footing the bill for the bail out! Seems like a win-win…. Detroit has a great sales year… and WE THE PEOPLE get new rides! But I doubt we’ll be seeing that bailout cash benefit the taxpayer…. it will more likely just get sucked down the blackhole like the wall street bailout… but I ask… why not buy the cars?
