my two cents: if you intend to do much with video, and any other serious graphics, I’d say you probably shouldn’t look at any laptop. It is my impression that most laptops just don’t have the video/graphic cards or the monitor to handle (for example) HD movies. That said, I seem to remember some of the very best computer video I’ve ever seen on a Mac desktop.
jdocopMemberMaybe I shouldn’t have mentioned that I’ve figured out how to get from the airport to the new highway (by going through Santa Ana). All I was asking was if taking the La Garita exit from Caldera would get me to the airport, when going down that way to pick somebody up…………..
jdocopMemberIone, you seem to know whereof you speak, so let me ask this: What is the quickest way to get to the airport, from the new highway? Get off at LaGarita, as you mentioned? (We had business in Santa Ana yesterday, and got there by turning right immediately after the airport, and working our way down…..then, we picked up the new highway just about 1 km from the business offices we had gone to visit……….that was actually quite easy, so now if I can just figure out how to get to the airport, knowing that reversing this route won’t work, ’cause you can’t make a left turn at the airport coming up from Santa Ana…………

If they work, they have the CAJA, so no medical expensesjdocopMemberWow, again! You mean somebody actually was able to read that entire post? I sure couldn’t. I, too, disagree with what he posted, but since it was not easily understandable, I pretty much ignored it.
jdocopMemberThe government of Costa Rica pays serious lip service to the concept of going green, actually having as a national goal to achieve the lowest carbon footprint imaginable (like, they’re shooting for zero). Also, serious effort is made to try to stop/control/eliminate the deforestation process (although, again there is an element of lip service paid to this effort as well), and encouragement is given to reforestation efforts.
jdocopMemberDiego – Huh? This is a thread about small business in CR, and you had to high jack it into a political diatribe? Why do you conclude that not paying taxes is a good thing? Don’t you think that having a decent infrastructure might be worthwhile? Or, maybe police and a justice system that would slow down the incidence of crime?
I think your idea of freedom is a bit skewed, my friend. Freedom does not mean that you are free to enjoy the benefits of MY tax dollars/colones, while not contributing in any way yourself. If you want freedom from government, then that would suggest you to be an anarchist. Is that what you are advocating?
Freedom from the U. S. press? What in the world does that mean? Do you not realize that one of the freedoms enjoyed in a place like the U. S. is the freedom to choose what to read, or not to read??!!
Freedom from the U. S. marketing machine? That ‘machine’ has as every right to bombard us with their messages, just as we have the right to ignore those messages!
I’m sorry, but I am always suspicious of anyone whose idea of freedom is to not pay taxes, or in some other way, carry one’s own weight.
jdocopMemberI beg to differ with you, my friend. A civil servant, whether parasitic or not, is most definitely NOT an elected official, but an employee of any civic (town, city, county, state, or federal) agency. The elected officials are not servants, nor are they often found to be civil. Maybe parasites, but more like leeches, or snakes, or something else entirely.
