    Based on the conversations I’ve had with a variety of Doctors in Costa Rica this sounds VERY, very odd indeed – Are we sure we’re comparing apples to apples here?[/quote]

    Hi Scott, This was the Dr that Mary Hickcox was representing. It is just too much for me. Really not even close. Here is her costs:

    “I know cost is a huge factor. Anyway, here is the cost breakdown:

    $4,800 …. Cost of the clinic and one day hospitalization plus (?)
    $4,000 … Medical diagnosis
    $3,500 … One stent
    $ 350 for one balloon
    $ 500 for one guiding catheter
    $ 350 for one guidewire
    $1,000 medical fee per stent
    ——————————————
    US$14,500 ”

    Thanks, John

    I was just informed the cost of one day stay in hospital and a heart cath with one stent is $14,500. I was amazed. So unless you have insurance in CR you may as well get it done in the US.

    Thanks Scott, I just might need a stent. But there is no emergency. I will check in next week to watch the video.

    I agree with Mike, I don’t care for the US bashing. The bill is not likely to pass. Can’t we keep this about Costa Rica? There are good reasons to go there besides being angry at the US. I’m sure some one has a website about how much they hate the US and conspiracy theories. But I won’t be looking at it. Scott, why don’t you talk your kids into coming to Costa Rica?
    It is much hotter in Florida than CR. I’m envious of you guys but can’t come right now.
