My friends and I went down to Costa Rica in May and checked out the CR tropical properties, Las Palmas project. It is in the early stages, but we were pretty happy with what we saw. The people were very nice and informative. There are actively working on the infrastructure. The land is beautiful but not as close to the ocean as we had hoped. While they do have ocean views, they are small ocean views, put panoramic views of the valley. We think it is a good investment and are excited about going forward. Many of the lots are on a pretty steep grade but we were told all lots can handle at least an 8,000 sq feet pad.
Lagunalaw1MemberI have also placed a deposit on an ocean view lot. My friend is buying one as well. We still need a lawyer. Can you give us the contact info for yours. We went down there and the people seemed credible and sincere. The land was beautiful, but the grades are steep. The ocean views are not great because it is 3 miles from the ocean but for the money, we thought it was the best deal down there. We are very excited about it and believe it will be a great investment. jim 949-678-2329
Lagunalaw1MemberLagunalaw1MemberCR tropical properties’ web site does list the name of the lawyer they are using, Alvaro Carballo-Pinto,He has been both a professor of Commercial and Real Estate Law. He served as Vice-Consul of Costa Rica in Miami, Florida, as legal counsel to the Free Zone Corporation, having drafted the original free zone law project. In addition they list the name of the project manager, Rodrigo Zapata & Associates. I am an attorney in California and spoke with Mr. Carballo and he seemed to be well informed and said CR was doing all the right things. I bought a lot from them and am going down in a couple weeks to check it out. I will report back.
Lagunalaw1MemberThey advised me they are not taking on any new projects. Any other reccommendations?
Lagunalaw1MemberI would be interested in seeing his work also. I am in the United States and just bought land in the Manuel Antonio area (South Parrita actually) and would like to hire an architect and a real estate attorney.
Lagunalaw1MemberA couple friends and I have placed deposits on several lots. We are going down next month to look at them. We talked to one person who had already been down and they had good things to say. They said the entry gate was very nicely done. I too would be interested in hearing any information about the company.
