WE are happy with our architect and engineer and the whole construction process. Castillo Arias Constructora.
Call Helmuth De Soto from Tierra Del Sol and ask if they build in Puriscal adn if they are – ask for estimate.

I used my Garmin Nuvis (three yr old) in January 2010. I have bought “Costa rica and Panama” maps from e-bay, i have inserted this little card in my Garmin and we used it with a great success.
We drove from Liberia to Guacanacuste beaches ( 3 hotels), back to Central Valley, back to Liberia. It works great! Much better then without GPS.

Some of us see it as: we now can go to Migracion office every 90 days and pay $100.00/each and extend visa for next 90 days WITHOUT LIVING CR.
So, we do not have to spend money for tickets, accomodations, transfers, dogs kennels…
They are ( CR MIgracion) collect $100 from each of us, and everybody is in peaceand they can keep track of us.???
To each his own. I could care less if one chooses to live in a gated community, luxury high rise, city or farm. I think when we sound so judgmental it can cause unneeded hard feelings and conflict.

If its not hurting you or anyone else, why not simply live and let live…
Hi, Lotus
I agree with you 100%. We have to respect and accept other people choices. We all worked very hard for MANY years to be able to afford place in CR. Why don’t we all enjoy the fruits of our labor, put EGO aside, try to help new to Cr people instead prejudging ….Good day you all

About helth care we already experienced in 2009.
We’ve spent $30 in a dental office for an exam, filling and cleaning of whole mouth.
We ‘ve spent $6 for eye Dr appointmnt including exam (30 min), introocular pressure test, prescription for glasses. Glasses with desiners frame, fotosensitivity, were 40% of us/canada prices and were ready in 36 hours.
No complains. Just appreciation.

We are not crazy, we have been in CR 7 times so far. We greatly enjoy fresh, tasty, aromatic fruits, veggies, freshly cought fish, no need to buy bottlrd water and eat irradiated chemically altered garbage. No need for mood-altering drugs also.
Lovely scenery, best climate, friendly, peacefull people, ability to live in Central Valley on 40% of
what we spend in North America monthly, low taxes, ability to travel for less if you have ticos friends, ability to retire at 55 instead 100, no pressure, no rash, no need to impress your friends with a huge house, expensive cars, just to be yourself….The best part – great dental, health care for $40/month.
We chosen gated community because we trying to be safe in this paradise.

We live in gated community in North America also, because of REAL VIOLENT CRIME which is getting worse.

Thank yu all for your opinions. We are in a process of completing the house constraction in a gated community with one entrance and one (the same) exit, 2 kids playgrounds, pool, rancho…
Subdivision is surrounded by concrete wall, 1 guard is at the entrance, 2 nd is on a motocycle, driving around 24 X 7. Nobody has iron bars or security systems.
We really do not know how soon we will be able to move to Cr.
So, we think that in gated community our house will be safer then in a bushes… Also we have cable, electricity, water, phone lines…all provided by municipality, so we can move in anytime. It is a middle class and higher income Tico’s neighbourhood. No gringos in our community as far as we know.
So far, we feel it is the best thing we could get. We are near Hacienda Los Reyes Contry Club, so we can use their Olympic pool, gym, golf, Tennis courts, pollo court just for $65.00 a month for a family. We are paying $115 for each person health club membership now.
We also only 3km from New Tallroad Exit.
Local people think it is a very safe neighbourhood.???
Walking ( 1km) distance to fruteria, meat, bakery shops.
Fantastic mountain view!!!We love it and can’t wait to be back to CR.

Just came back from Cr. We love this beautiful country with friendly, helpful, peacefull people, fantastic fresh aromatic food. Fruits and vegetables to duy for!!!
Our living will be provided by my international networkmarketing business i have been building for 7 years, I can do it on internet and skype from any place.
Instead of worry about trush in some places in CR, you need to start worring about garbage we all eating and drinking in USA. Our elected officials could care less about quality of main source of life and health – good food!
All foods are full of chemicals, hormones, antibiotics… irradiated, genetically altered, water is horrible, stinks… Bad health – we have drugs for you and your kids!!
Economically – it is a momentum time to get out ….
We know that we have to speek Spanish well ,so we take classes while we selling house and traditional business.- Cr is a pleace for us!!!
Some of you can keep thinking/”analysis paralisis”… prices already going up!!! May be it is not for you???
Saludos!Pura vida!

Does anybody know about people who return back to USA, do they have a residency status in Costa Rica or they mainly “tourists”?
