MemberI have T-Mobile and my blackberry works in CR of course the rates are high. My phone also has wi-fi built in for both calling and data so I can get all my e mails and make phone calls for free when I can pick up a wi fi signal either at a hotel, restaurant etc..The I-Phone wifi only works for data so when you can get a wifi connection you will get e mails and Internet use. But you can not make phone calls using the wifi.

MemberI also thought upon reading this that wow Scott is one tough cookie and was over reacting a bit. But you did confirm that the pizza was actually quite good. I appreciate the hard-line you took in the face of an unfair policy, and perhaps the owners should reconsider. If fear of a fake $100 dollar bill is the concern they just should not accept bills over say $20. With a calculator it’s surely easy enough to do the conversion. Scott if I was European and had money I would be happy to have a penny pinching Scot like yourself taking care of my money! 🙂 Good form mate.

MemberThat is what has me baffled. With all those lots sold why not complete the infrastructure? I think we all know the answer to that…

MemberSprite I have to disagree about South Florida. We spend quite a bit of time in Playa Hermosa/Jaco and my wife used to work in South Florida, my sister currently does. At Hermosa the mornings and evenings are very nice sometimes “cool” where I will put on a long sleeve cotton shirt or am comfortable wearing jeans into Jaco at night for dinner. The humidity at nigt and in the mornings really is not that bad at all either. 1-3pm yes it is HOT if you are in the sun, but step under a palapa and it’s quite nice.
Now south Florida is unbearable from March-October no one leaves the air conditioning, at 6 am you walk outside it’s like stepping into an oven. Let’s have David Treadway chime in here…

Member8 bucks a M2 sounds pretty damn good to me?

MemberI hear you loud and clear imx and I do respect your integrity. I must admit I have a much more laid-back attitude about this entire immigration thing…I’ll leave it at that. Now I’m going to order some Chinese food undoubtedly cooked by an illegal and delivered on a stolen bike by one. 😉

MemberIf things don’t start improving here in the US I may be heading back to CR and doing the PT thing myself with what little I have left. I would add “lol” but it really isn’t so funny 🙁 Regarding the article Scott has already stated that his attorney sees no problem with Hickox and why assume this other couple are not on the up and up. Should every article come with a disclaimer announcing the immigration status of the people it’s written about? If I were in their shoes I wouldn’t respond to the “police” on this board why is it some gringos business anyway? That said I am not suggesting you don’t express yourselves, but my feelings are this is between them and the Costa Rican Authorities.

MemberThe best meal I have had in Manuel Antonio is from a woman who has a little soda set up right on the beach. There are a few tables and you will see her grilling chicken…mouth watering!!!

MemberThey recently passed a new law requiring child seats or pay a big fine. I was wondering what the road to San Ramon was like from Arenal, not the one I took by way of Quesada.
*Lotus
MemberFrom Arenal if you take the “secondary” road towards San Ramon do you still go over the mountains? We took the route through Q.Quesada because the map showed it as paved and the road towards San Ramon as unpaved. Yeah it was a fun ride for sure not quite 5 hours but a lot longer than anticipated! lol. I could not see my hand in front of my face, what a relief when you suddenly emerge from it!

MemberWe recently drove from Arenal by way of San Carlos on our way back to San Jose, I think it was near Naranjo high up in the mountains the fog/clouds were so dense I could barely drive! I almost took a secondary road that would have taken us toward San Ramon, I had no idea the size of the mountain range we had to cross. A good example of how useless a map can be if you don’t have topographical info or previous knowledge. It was a nail biter of a trip! But we had some wonderful tamales in Zarcero!
