MemberFrom things I have read they never thought it could happen in Germany, a civil, educated society. Jews had fought for Germany during WW 1, were war heroes an integral part of society…they were German. Anything can happen history shows this I hope history isn’t repeating itself.

MemberAlfred,
I think I passed my doc’s name on to you in another thread. Dr.Kokayi, He is located on West 57th street and may be of some help to you, google Him her is quite an amazing man. Give him a shout and tell him Keith sent you. We have been in CR for about 3 weeks…it’s getting harder and harder to leave!

MemberThank you I have wanted to stay there but I think it is a bit far from the Dr. but I will look into it. The Park I refer to is La Sabana (the side where the national gym is)

MemberThat makes sense David if it is already addressed in their laws. What exactly is the bottom line on being a PT as far as the law goes? Perhaps one of the attorneys out there can shed some more light on this subject?
*Lotus
MemberJust for the sake of playing devils advocate; Why are they putting these extreme new measures into place regarding immigration and not mentioning a word in the new law about PT’s? They obviously are aware that many expats are living more or less full-time in CR as PT’s so this begs the question why not even one sentence? The whole thing is a bit curious? I think one could imagine all sorts of reasons. If they make the new laws applicable to those who are already living there legally then it’s anything goes, what next gringos can’t own property? I think David is right and the courts will side in favor of those “legals” already living in the country and protect their original terms of residency. It will be interesting to see how this finaly plays out…it ain’t over till the fat lady sings.

MemberI am quite a way from retiring but it seems that it should not be to difficult for a couple to still retire here with the $2000 per month requirement.

MemberDavis two countries that come to mind are Uruguay and Ecuador, but this is what friends tell me. I have not researched either other than a few Internet passes.

MemberI don’t know if I would agree with that altogether, there are plenty of gringos scamming each other in CR. Oh yeah up here as well…

MemberI agree with some of your points. I just believe a lot of the “poors” problems were started by government. My head is spinning from this, as Churchill said, I’ll a paraphrase a bit here; “Life…just one damn thing after another.” Enjoy your weekend.
