That’s a shame. I remember seeing it basically completed and I think Sonesta actually signed on. Seems like a product of unfortunate timing.

However if you put that $250 into a s&p 500 index fund in 1979 it would be worth approx. $13,000 excluding inflation/fees. Now if you had $25K to invest in the s&p in 1979 and held it there, it would have grown to approx. $1.2MM excluding inflation/fees. That would pad the old retirement account a bit! Hard to beat the s&p over the long haul. Though I adhere to a market timing model myself, can’t stomach the down “cycles”.

“Organic” is an accepted term for growing/raising food. organic farming in general features cultural, biological, and mechanical practices that foster cycling of resources, promote ecological balance, and conserve biodiversity. Synthetic pesticides and chemical fertilizers are not allowed, although certain organically approved pesticides may be used under limited conditions. In general, organic foods are also not processed using irradiation, industrial solvents, or synthetic food additives.

The word “organic” for some strange reason can be a hot topic for some. It’s essentially just a cleaner, sustainable way to raise food. Yes, I took high school science, I understand the definition of “organic”. However it is an accepted term when it comes to describing a method of food production. Study the pesticides that are permitted to be used and the effects they have on cells/dna. You may consider “organic” in a different light. I understand it is not economically feasible for all persons to purchase organic food. However some awareness of what is allowed in producing food can benefit everyone and assist us in making healthier, more informed choices. And if we all speak up loud enough perhaps even change some of the practices allowed in food production.

Choose organic, support organic. Funny in the USA they charge farmers to certify their crops as organic, subsidize the rest.genetic modification, inserting pesticide into the genetic make up is different than what Dr. Welsh for example did with grapes. by the time they provide you with scientific proof, you’ll be poisened. Want a list of the stuff that the scientific method gave the thumbs up to? Watch forks offer knives or http://www.thefutureoffood.com otherwise eat as you wish, it’s a free country 🙂

Don’t forget it is only the US that does not allow most travel to Cuba. The rest of the world does vacation there. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the Cuban government developed hotels, restored old resorts in an effort to bolster tourism. That said they mostly try and keep tourists away from most of the local population.I have read that they receive approximately 3,000,000 tourists per year.

Sounds good to me. Though hauling back to Fl. every 3 months sounds a bit much.I actually love the hot, humid weather, currently enjoying Florida, though I’m just about a mile off the Ocean. Sprite: Get ready for the glorious South Florida “winter”.

This is a very well documented argument that Mr. Rosenberg brings up here. If you surf through the internet you will find the AFL-CIO effectively interpreting the data as Mr. Rosenberg does. However you will find another view of this here:

Eat a plant-based diet, if you must add in a little fish; problem solved. Make wholesome sweets with fruits (abundant in CR) and whole grains. Buy organic if you can, pesticide usage is rampant in CR.

Most disease is caused by a poor diet, excessive drinking, smoking. It’s not only the banking systems that are screwing you, it’s big pharma and the processed food industry that is killing you, poisoning you. Spend some time watching this film and really start fresh in Costa Rica!

The diving for the most part in Costa Rica is mediocre if you are looking for the type of visibility, fish and coral you have through-out the Caribbean. We dove at Playa del Coco and it was not very good. I have been told that Cano Island has very good diving, I think it is also a mating ground for hammerhead sharks.

I should have expressed myself more clearly. I was not specifically referring to this thread, however I think most reasonable people would agree some of the threads on this site get a bit out of hand. Of course I understand that not everyone will see things this way.

Sprite is so against the gated lifestyle choice, he won’t even put up a white picket fence! ba da boom!

Sprite I do agree with your sentiment that the energy you put out can attract other similar energy (I bet quantum physics could prove this!). But I also think all this harsh, negative bickering in this forum also creates a negative energy, state of mind. The practice of mindfulness is a wonderful thing.

We have learned that everyone has a different point of view regarding gated communities. The good news is, is that no one is right. But let’s see how many times members will try and convince sprite otherwise 😀
