telling fact from fiction: first of all, do not believe anything you hear on MSM. that is not news, but a series of press releases giving you information they want you to have, even if it is contra historical fact, or even current fact. in order to discern fact from fiction you must be very well grounded in history presented by unbiased scholars. getting your information from a variety of news outlets in other countries also gives you a different perspective. the German news (in Spanish) often has a different series of events than the news in English (from MSM). Same with French and Italian news. Fox News is perhaps one of the worst sources for any information because it is pretty much a propaganda site. And then of course, having friends all over the world who are also astute in their observations about current or even historical events helps a lot. I find that most Americans get their information in a vacuum. With no historical perspective, they have no way of ferreting out what is true, slightly skewed, or an outright lie. The Palestinian issue is one of those big problems — the MSM wants you to believe that the Palestinians are the bad guys; that they are launching rockets (you would, too!), that they are occupying land that isn’t theirs, ad nauseum. But an investigation into history tells an entirely different story — the story they don’t want you to know, much less believe. The history we were taught about Native Americans is a perfect example. We celebrate Columbus Day (he was a murdering pirate, who cared about nothing except raping and pillaging!), we celebrate Thanksgiving (ugh!), and we were taught in grade school that all those beastly savages deserved to be killed — all 40 million of them!! WOW! The truth is another story. Now we have the Native Americans living in concentration camps on land that belonged to them for millenia. How cool is THAT? Have you ever been to a reservation and seen how they live? They live like dogs, or worse. They have no access to decent food, but they do have access to alcohol, white bread, and Coke. They are living like the Palestinians. It’s a sobering day when you wake up and realize that most of what you learned is a lie, or at least distorted to the point that it simply suits an agenda but is nowhere near the truth. I had that epiphany at the age of 8 and haven’t believed anything I was told since, unless I have done my own investigation, and sometimes that investigation lasts decades!

no pay at the pump here that i know of. we actually have attendants who fill your tank, clean your windows, check your tires, check the oil and water. you know, how it used to be in the US in the 80’s. tipping these attendants C200 or C300 gets you great service with nary a rip-off.

The creation of Zionism is what started all of this and that predates 1948 by many many decades. The palestinians live in fear every second of their lives — they are locked in an open concentration camp that is nothing but rubble in some areas. they are bombed, shot at, bulldozed. there are raids on their homes in the middle of the night on some false pretense and then their homes are bulldozed to the ground. the teenage boys throw rocks. the israelis throw rockets. you can certainly see how they become suicide bombers; you probably would too if you life was reduced to that of a homeless, starving dog. why NOT become a martyr if you have nothing whatsoever to look forward to in your life? the jewish settlements are completely illegal under international law, but that doesn’t stop anybody from encroaching on land that isn’t theirs. who’s going to stop them? it’s a horrid, sick, and sad situation and we as consciousness-raised individuals will no longer sit by and watch this genocide and keep our mouths closed. and that is why i support CR’s position on this issue. they are absolutely doing the right thing for everyone.

so typical of right wingers to say that pointing out the obvious is an insult. love your thought process. excuses, excuses, excuses. you are probably a very nice person, but truly, you have no grasp of this issue. if you consider that an insult, then it’s your problem for not being better informed on an issue that has driven the media, and been a divisive ploy for decades. my suggestion would be for you to not only watch the video i posted, but to watch Death in Gaza — a riveting documentary about a british journalist who went there to interview both Palestinian and Isarael children but was shot to death by the Israelis as he was holding a white flag. you do remember Rachel Corey, right? she was run over by an Israeli bulldozer as she protested them razing yet another Palestinian home. in this age of knowledge that is available at the click of a mouse, there is hardly any excuse anymore for not seeing both sides of this picture. your opening statement on this topic suggests that you do in fact have a particular prejudice that probably spawns from nothing more than complete ignorance.

nobody ever argued that israel doesn’t have right to exist. so for you to toss that comment into the ring is just another example of YOUR inability to stay on topic. the issue is whether palestine has a right to exist, peacefully, on the same plot of land. what you say are insults are merely observations of your lack of knowledge about the issue. clearly, what you parrot is Fox News propaganda and has nothing whatsoever to do with the real situation at hand. if you’re going to take sides, at least know both sides of the issue. the other side is NEVER discussed in MSM, EVER, NEVER! did you watch the documentary i posted? of course you didn’t. wouldn’t want to clutter up your pretty head with facts to replace your opinions.

personally, i wouldn’t swim in any body of water here. maybe if you were way way way way way from civilization it would be okay. the oceans are really warm and lovely, some larger towns have big swimming pools, but i would avoid all rivers anywhere near a city.

many historians believe, and have stated, that the treatment of the Palestinians is in fact genocidal and that what the Israelis have done can only be described as ethnic cleansing. if you didn’t know that, Victoria, then you are way behind the curve on this topic.

this is costa rica’s statement about why it voted as it did. i think it is really important to remember that costa rica has no standing army; we do not invade other territories to rape and pillage the citizens or the natural resources. costa rica promotes peace. many of us moved here to enjoy this new perspective on world problems and to no longer be part of the war-mongering that the US has become so good at. perhaps if one’s philosophy is contradictory to costa rica, you might want to entertain going back to where conflict, war, and denying basic human rights is the mode of operation. this is, after all, a fairly socialist country who provides what it can for its citizens. this premise alone makes me wonder who those who voted against Obamacare have the audacity to take part in the CAJA system here and who still promote conflict in one of the most sensitive areas of the world.

i feel only marginally better that someone else recognizes how asleep the masses are. and uninformed. when i tried to explain to another Fox-News-watcher about this situation, i was told, “I don’t want my head all cluttered up with those facts.” oh, yes, facts. those pesky little things that can prove to you how dumb you really are. jajajaja your goals are noble davidd, and in reality, that is all you can do — none of us can change any of this mess we’re in. i do what i can do every single day, and some days, it’s just too overwhelming because the number of people i meet who don’t care about any of this is just mind-boggling. i wish i could live in their bubble and be inured to the suffering of any person or animal, but when i finally wrapped my head around the problems in the gaza, i was sick at heart for days. there is a huge and dangerous disconnect out there — where some people see other people as another life form, not deserving of basic human rights to live in peace and to have a country to call one’s own. shame shame shame on them.

i’ve been studying this issue for 40 years, and i have some very personal reasons for pursuing this line of inquiry. the information is out there; it isn’t obscure and it isn’t only for a few who are persistent like me to want to know exactly how all this started. but if you’re too lazy to go look for it, well, i can’t help you. you have to go back in history at least 200 years (or longer) to get a glimpse of today’s problems in that territory. watch the documentary i posted. it is historically accurate and mirrors everything else i have learned in my quest to understand the genesis of this massive problem. more than anything now, this is a human rights issue. that wall in Gaza is 24 feet high. imagine! 24 feet!!!! the palestinians are living in an open prison, and they are living like dogs. actually some dogs live better than that. 138 countries voted yes; 41 abstained; 9 including the US voted no! THAT IS BLOODY SHAMEFUL!!!

it is absolutely tragic how misinformed you are on this topic. there has been a genocidal menu in that territory for more than 85 years but it’s not as you claim it is. this didn’t start in 1948. please do some research. And i am HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY that CR did the RIGHT thing. And I’M Jewish!!! Stop watching Fox news and watch this:
