i found a place that sells chicken sin hormones y antibioticos and that is what i buy for me and my dogs, although we eat chicken or fish only occasionally now not just becuase of the costs but because of the contamination.
maravillaMembersounds like another scam.

maravillaMemberpersonally, i would like my tax dollars NOT to go to funding more illegal wars, weapons, death squads, dictators, coups d’etats, banking scandals, criminal buy-out for the crooks, etc.
maravillaMemberladrones! asi es.
maravillaMemberjust with the new luxury food tax, olive oil went up 13%!
maravillaMemberhow can you even be sure it was about taxes if you didn’t understand what they were saying? also, how would any of us know what happened in that meeting if we weren’t there? this is a perfect example of why one needs to learn spanish to function properly in this country. this will be just one of hundreds of situations you will find yourself in where your lack of language skills will put you at a disadvantage.
maravillaMembernew taxes on what, did you at least get that part of it? the only new tax i know about is on our SAs, which i just paid.
maravillaMemberi’d be sure to check the ingredients in that commercial feed. no doubt it has gmo’s and maybe even antibiotics of some sort. the pigs are finca luna wander freely and are feed from our kitchen — all the vegetable scraps and fruit, and then they forage freely. they are fat as pigs and healthy, too. they are also good tillers. i’d raise them as organically as possible, otherwise what’s the point??

maravillaMemberi wouldn’t think of eating anything BUT an organic chicken in this country. one pipasa vendor told me they don’t use antibiotics. oh, yeah, and i am princess di! i see those polleras and how there are thousands of chickens in those places. i found a small vendor in san ramon who sell antibiotic free and hormone free chickens and their eggs. why screw around with your health for a few hundred colones more to get something that wasn’t poisoned.
maravillaMemberyou sure don’t want a shorter than 90 day visa, otherwise you will have to do this all over again. maybe you are closer to panama than nicaragua — i know there is a guy out of quepos that runs day trips across the panama border. i think i saw that info on costa rica living which is a yahoo group.
maravillaMembergo to trip advisor and see what they have. as i remember there were lots of nice places, not too expensive, to stay in. i chose the Vivaldi because it had the longest swimming pool in granada, and that was about $75 a night but i split that with my g.f. there are plenty of places cheaper than that, tho. i remember looking at the Posada del Sol which had apartment type accommodations in a really nice historic building on the main walking street.
maravillaMemberwow, i missed all of that. well, at least you found a better place to land. i’ve only ever done one border run with my girlfriend last year and we took the bus to granada. we had a great time and the trip was pretty painless. i don’t know about other places since i’ve never had to do this.
maravillaMemberdan — i thought you were living at the beach somewhere in guanacaste???
