November 30, 2007 at 12:21 pm in reply to: Has anyone had experience with Thrifty Car Rental #188481mrwoody20MemberI have used Dollar rent a car just outside of the airport a number of times and have found them to be very competetive and have never had a problem. All car rental agencies are in business to make money so if you do your homework prior to booking, and then you deal with a reputable agency, you should be fine.
mrwoody20MemberThanks, minuit – we would appreciate any updates or news you may have. We are in Canada and finding it difficult to get information or when information does come, getting it confirmed. Our corporation originally filed papers over 10 years ago, however we have only owned the corporation for less than 1 year – anyway, we sure would appreciate any updates (mrwoody-20@hotmail.com) and if you supply your email, we will advise on any info we may receive
Thanks againmrwoody20MemberWe have a lot in the same area. I understood as well that it was a “federal” agency that needed to approve – not the municipality. I had heard that the condos that were going up did not have their concessions either – but supposedly did have building permits. I had also heard a year or so ago, that the municipality could not grant any “legal” building permits until the concession thing got sorted out. I find it hard to believe that those big organizations would build those condos if there was a risk that the concession would not be granted and they would lose their investment. Bottom line is I’m not sure what to believe.
mrwoody20MemberMy personal experience is that it is better to negotiate before you get there – there are many rental sites, and they will correspond via email. We have found that the dollar rent a car to be very reliable and have been happy with their services
mrwoody20MemberThanks for the info. I have emailed her. So, how long have you been waiting for your concession ?? What is the latest news ?? Does this mean that your lot is empty now ?? I have met a few people that have homes on Palo Seco, but do not yet have their concessions. We are hopeful that they will be granted soon, as we would like to be able to build a home while we are still young and healthy enough to enjoy it.
mrwoody20MemberThank-you for the info – I will email her – how do you know her ??
Not sure how fast for the concession, have someone working on it, and have heard that it may be possible in the next few months – but I know that it may not happen that quickly – but in the meantime, I do want to have all my information in order, so that once it is granted, I can begin right away…..thanksmrwoody20MemberThanks again, Charlie…..I will email him….anyone else with any ideas/contacts/suggestions……all are welcome, we hope to meet at least a few people and find someone who we feel comfortable with……thanks
mrwoody20MemberThanks, we are actually arriving late on the 11th, so we will check it out on the 12th…more ideas/names/leads are encouraged
