Landlords usually gleam at the sight of foreigners so be really aware some will hike up a price by hundreds. Basically demand to pay in colones, ask around for what ticos are paying for the same conditions and refuse rentals that plain out are overpriced, you’ll be amazed what saying NO to a tico will do.
