Scott,
I was not sure you would post something negative regarding a site recommendation, I also read an email in the past that said his note had been edited???
Sorry if it caused concern, you have a great website and seem to be a very good guy. I also appreciated Bill Maes!!

nomadMemberMy advise is do not take any chance on your safety or a replacement vechicle being availabe if you have any problems. I went straight to Grecia (his local for the rentals) he did not even attempt to meet with us or give us the location of his business. The roads in CR are bad enough adding an inadequate rental makes it much more dangerous just look at the high fatlities from MVA’s. Life is too precious!!!

nomadMemberGringoTico,
Your Tips for driving can best be appreciated only if you have driven there, I enjoyed them. Here is one perhaps you did not experience, if driving in a small village make the turns wide or your car could end up lying on its side on the sidewald. In my little town of San Isidro we have huge gullies between the sidewalks & roads. Maybe if they checked the sewers they would find a missing person or two.
You are soooo right driving in Costa Rica is worth it!!!

nomadMemberI have 3 house on 1 property, private gated road, gate may need some repairs from time to time, I have a gardener, he should be checked on occasionally. I may need a house to be shown or find a guard to live on site. I can’t be there full-time so all 3 houses will need to be cleaned at leaast every 2 wks. & the 1 I use cleaned and made ready for my arrival. All or a combination of these things I guess depends on the definition of Costa Rician property management.
Thanks,
nomad
nomadMemberI will do that…. Thank you Scott.

Good luck with your transfer.
nomadMembernomadMemberThere is an Animal shelter in Heredia with many dogs for adoption, spayed, neutered with shots. Email: refugio@infoweb.co.cr and website is http://www.animalsheltercostarica.com, tel. (506) 267-7158. I have visited the shelter, it is clean and has a very nice English speaking lady at the front counter.
Good Luck,

nomadMemberWhat was the size and how much did it cost?
nomadMemberjasman,
I agree, that is also why I don’t want to live in Escazu. However, I also know I want to be no more than 30 minutes outside of San Jose.
nomadMemberjasman,
I liked Heredia but think it just might be a little more humid than say Escazu, I guess it depends on your interests. Most ladies like shopping and the great shopping malls are in Escazu. I think it is a bit cheaper in Heredia since Americans seem to really love Ciudad Colon, Santa Ana & Escazu which are very beautiful. It took me a couple of trips to decide but budget is definetly a consideration.
When do you plan on going down there?deborah
nomadMemberI have looked into buying until just recently and will be returning to CR soon to look at rentals, there is such a wide range of prices depending on condo/home/gated or not.
I found a development called Zurqui Hills near Che Tica Ranch, I love the location but it seems very pricey at $75.00 a Sq. meter. Do you know anything about this place? I will post my findings on rentals after I get back..My friend that lives in Heredia says I should plan on spending about $400.00 a month minimum????nomadMemberI am also single, middle-aged and plan on moving to CR in this year.
Would love to meet more people, I have traveled the world enjoy foreign films, fine wines and outdoor activity. Do you have any groups that plan activities such as these??Deborah
