Hola all out there in CR – I am looking for a furnished rental in the central valley area with cool weather. It would be for myself and my darling cat Mimi. We are planning on moving to CR o/a 16 Nov 2012. I found such a wonderful place I thought in Grecia – unfortunately, it is now gone. I will be looking for a car as well but would like to have a place that is cool or air conditioned – not a tiny but moderate place. If you know of any – please contact me – George Lunquist – gave such a wonderful tour back in 2005 – he sold me on CR – Blessings always friends, Pj
We have some apartments in Atenas – Please check out Scott’s rental listings to see our ad. Pete & Stef

I used to make trips to their corporate office on business and I can tell you that they are a ruthless bunch. Have no doubt about how they think they can do business in these countries.

I agree with most responses that your best bet is to do it on your own. I did it that way on my first trip and it worked out great. If you need any help on planning, please feel free to contact me and I will help you anyway I can.

There appears to be some confusion here, so I guess that I did not make the original post clear enough. There are two vehicles that I have made an “apples to apples” comparison on cars selling here and in Panama. A similar vehicle in Panama sells for about $10,000 – $15,000 less than Costa Rica. According to what I have been told, the vehicles coming from Panama are not subject to the same duties as those from the US. – All I want to know – Is this correct and what is the duty structure? Unless you buy new in Costa Rica, you really don’t know what you are getting – And, I can verify that one.
    Thanks
