    Thanks for the info.

Anyone from or been to Zancudo
W e have now booked first month moving around the park, I think we will have a first hand look at things while there as we are not particularly limited with our time.

We only need to be within hiking distance of a store to be happy (for food and beer πŸ™‚ )

    28 days to go πŸ™‚

    Good for you Maravilla

It’s certainly nothing to do with poverty more to do with adaptability! My wifw and I ate very well indeed for a month stating in a rented house in PV for just 320 US/month so adding a power bill of 100/month what does that say?
No car needed, beach 300m walk away, sunshine, flowers, wildlife and lovely people all around the finca.

Compare that UK where our monthly shop is at least 750 US and then a whole cartful of taxes on top. Just to tax a car and run it for a year wouldnt be less than 3000 (oops)US/yeat here WITHOUT gas at 10 YES 10 US a litre for diesel!!!

I wait for the day when I can buy a small place in CR in the meantime I have to be happy visiting for 6 months/year if I can make it.

Love it in CR BUT no income other than measly bank interest; a good sized nest egg but a long way to retirement so I guess 250000 US short lol – can someone start a collection for me?

Lets hope the house all goes through at end August all looking good at the moment so it will be full steam ahead to CR for at least 3 months to start with, UK for Xmas and then back again.

W e are very poor though and with these crap interest rates will have to see how things go, a lot of number crunching required lol

    Hi Steve

I am in the UK and same age as you.
I have lived in Cornwall for the past 15 years and we have few problems here BUT in general things in the UK are in a poor and deteriorating state, as if you didnt know, I am very sorry to hear your story and hope you recover quickly.

I am just about to sell up here and move at least part time to CR so you can PM me any questions etc if you wish. All being well I should be in CR in September.

    also hi Scott!

Read AM Costa Rica – its just a little closer to law.

Just a thought – if Rentista was 10000 USD/month; I would change it into colones, spend 1000 bucks and then change back and xternalise 9000 right? (hyperthetical) – so my spend rate in CR would not go up a cent. So why is this a useful bit of law? Problem is I cant possibly get 600K together at one point in time. Would the government not be better to keep it at 2000 (2X 1000) and make you spend it in CR?

Don’t know you sir but wish you well.

Try not to worry as I read this has all happened before and theres a long way to go to make it law.

Also I would bet in 2010 the current holder of the top job has but no chance of remaining.

Its only a few months since Gordon Brown said “no more boom and bust” – look what happened – its goodbye to him then as well about the same time.

Im too young to retire, but was going to go to CR to look around for a year (6 months lol) then go rentista – if this goes through Ill be going somewhere else BUT I will still spend time there. Hell I never earned 5000 USD/month as a senior manager in the uk lol
