Sounds great. But I do not arrive in San Jose until 25 December. Then finish business there and leave either 1 or 2 Jan to go to Sierpe. I have not been to Sierpe before but I have been to CR two times before. Looking for a place to retire to next summer. Ron USCG Ret

I have also heard good things about Georges Tours. My question, I thought that Americans could not work in Costa Rica. So how is it that he can have aTour Company?

Hey Guys, I am also coming to Sierpe January 1 or 2 until about the 6th then have to go back to San Jose to head back to Arizona. I will be looking for a rental housing market. I will retire there next summer and want to rent a small house around Sierpe or on down on the Osa. Maybe I could get in some fishing when I am there. Any help would be great. Ron USCG Ret

I am not sure why this person needs to give up their US bank account. I understand that I can keep my account open here for my Military Pension and also open an account in CR for my Social Security. And I can use the ATM to get cash out of my US account or even have a wire transfer if I need more then the $400 a day limit on ATM’s.

Thanks David, I was NEVER thinkingg of giving up my Citenzenship nor my passport. My sister gave up her USA Citizenship about 40 years ago when she went to UK for college and never came home, she had to denounce America to become a citizen of the UK. But with things expecting too go to crap in the next few years. I want to get out of this USA. I have been to CR twice before and am coming back Christmas day for another 2 1/2 weeks. I will spend about 1 week in San Jose then go to Sierpe and look at possible places to rent next August or September. I had planned to wait a couple more years but I just getting so tired of working in the Healthcare field and it will be getting worst. I will sell my RV and Big Freightliner RV toter then seel just about everything else load up a pick up and a small trailer for my Quad and mining equipment. Have a great week. Ron USCG Ret

Thank you David, If I give up my US passport then I know I lose my Military Pension, and I believe that it will also effect my Social Security. And with a USA Passport it is usually easier to travel to many other places. Ron USCG Ret

Thank you, I guess I will have to go to SS office. I also draw a large Military Pension. So That may require me to file tax returns. I will go to SS and to IRS to get the answers from the horses mouth. And write down names and Federal Statutes numbers.

Some one told me that Uncle Sam holds back 30% of SS Benifits for persons living out of the country because USA fears persons living outside USA may forget to file US tax returns. How does it not apply to you?

Well, I am not either Dem or Rep. But for those Dem’s maybe you shuld go back and research what party robbed the Social Security Fund, what party started taxing SS benifits, what party raised the retirement age, what party would not put restrictions on Fanie Mae and Freddie Mac, In case you can’t find those facts it was the Dem’s. But because of the way our country ( USA ) is going down the tubes with al the bail outs and other failing finincal woo’s here I am bailing out sooner then later. Ron USCG Ret

Well, I believe that if you have problems protecting your personal property and you are not willing to do something yourself then you may want to hire some help. But for me I believe that if my property was being squatted on and the squatters would not listen to reason and the Police could not help then I would personally take matters into my own hands. Taking a life is not fun, as I have had to do during my Military carera. So having to do it again to protect my property I would do it again. As I am sure it would be easy to provoke them to the point where I could defend myself in Self Defense. So that is my opinion. Ron Ret Military
