    Soldier,

I am familiar with Milagro Management & Rentals. Pamela, and Jeffry provide a good service for their clients. They are hard working, trustworthy and detail oriented, which are some of the qualities that you will want in someone looking after your property.

There is a metal worker on the road to Coco on the right hand side as your coming down the hill. He has the ability to build and install your bars for you.

Michigan BC/BS paid the entire bill from the birth of our daughter at Cima Hospital in November of 2007. We just mailed the bill in Spanish to them on a lark, we were very surprised, but very pleased! Shaun.

My wife and I along with my 3 year old just renewed ours this morning after making an appointment yesterday afternoon. We asked to have it done in Liberia. We were on time for our 8:20 AM appointment, we were brought into the office at 8:55, all three out by 10 AM (they had a problem with the finger print machine). We paid our fee’s and received a copy of our application. We will pick up our new cedula’s at the post office in Playas Del Coco on June 16th. Not too bad I would say, it saved me a 4 hour drive to San Jose! Shaun.

I don’t know enough about the other models that Garmin offers to give you a good answer. I bought the Nuvi 350, not cheap, but I liked the features it offered. Go to their website and check out the differences. They seem to have a very good product line. Good luck, Shaun.

I have been using a Garmin Nuvi 350 for the past 7 weeks in Costa Rica, I bought the SmartWays map from Sergio Vargas here in Costa Rica. (I sent my $100 to his office in Florida, then was sent a key code to download the map for my unit). I have to say I am very happy with the system and the local map. The Costa Rica map is not as detailed as the map of the US that comes with the unit, but it will get you where you need to go. It even has voice commands to tell you when to turn, and there are many points of interest loaded in. I understand they are continuing to improve on it, and will give one free update on the program. The detail of San Jose is very good, I would be lost with out it. I’m not related to the company, I am just a very happy customer. You can email Mr. Vargas here: sergio@rsgps.net I would recommend this system to anyone traveling around this country. Shaun.

Charlie, I would like to know more about the “permiso de salide”, like how do you get it, what is involved, etc. You can contact me off list if you want. Thanks.

I am disappointed also, I considered using them when I come down in Oct. We will be there for 10 weeks, then permanently in Jan. I hate buying cars in the U.S., let alone buying one in CR without being fluent in Spanish yet, or knowing my way around. I would really hate to get ripped off on such an expensive purchase.

I’m in the same position here in Rochester Hills, Michigan. I have two houses to sell. One is rented and I may end up keeping it until the market stabilizes a bit, but I would rather not have it hanging over my head. I’m already a bit negative on it right now, but I bought it thinking it would be a good investment….timing, timing, timing. I now wish I had the money to invest more in Costa Rica. I am taking steps to prepare my primary residence to put it on the market in the spring. I am going to invite some realitors over to suggest any changes I should make to get the best price that I can. We hope to be living in Costa Rica at this time next year. Shaun.
