Refusing to show you the signed part of the agreement is reason enough to back away; it could be this guy is afraid of revealing his identity.
Since you are buying 15 acres and not a small plot I suggest you go find an owner looking to sell and pay wholesale not retail!
simondgMemberI have a lot of experience in the area and know the prices well. This sounds cheap but of course I would need to know more. There are a few hotels up there including Eco playa; could be perfect but of course there could be a problem with it too. Do you have pictures etc?
simondgMemberactually any bank will receive a wire transfer for you without having an account…a little known fact.
simondgMemberScott, could you change the setting on the log out so that it won’t wipe out my lengthy reply’s before I can post them. Even after clicking on it to stop the log out the posting gets wiped out when trying to review.
Well I dont have the energy to write another epic like the one that just got wiped out but suffice to say I was being sincere in my question as to whether anyone lost money and the “honouring agreements” part is aimed at the owner, not the client.
For anyone taking legal action in a real estate case I can reassure them that the legal system works well; I have just successfully sued a (foreign) land owner who thought he could renege on a deal with me. Use the arbitration court with a back up threat of a separate fraud case this seems to work wonders.
God bless Costa Rica (and my lawyers)!
simondgMemberdid anyone lose money with them? did they honour their agreements?
simondgMemberOn the contrary, I might be the only one without a vested interest.
simondgMemberHow about any reason for cancelling, concrete, or as lame as can be; anything will do. Just curious…
It seems I’m the only one interested to know the facts and the details of the contract.
With regards to your comments about honour I’m at a loss unless you are suggesting that these companies are ripping people off I see little connection with your own daily bad experiences. Which brings me full circle to where we started.
In summary, the deal was cancelled for unknown reasons on a contract about which the readers of this forum know absolutely nothing.
The strange thing is I’m not trying to fight with you or anyone else here but I would like the full story.
simondgMemberUntil such time as someone offers a concrete reason for not honouring the agreement they signed I will continue to state that these “victims” have little to offer in convincing me of their plight.
If there is a problem with the project then let’s get it out there; until such time I will not be joining the lynch mob. This deal could be the worst or the best in CR, does anyone know?
I’m not supporting these people, however I think it’s incumbent upon an intelligent forum to ask for more than accepting “I want my money back” cries from it’s ranks.

simondgMemberWhy did you cancel Roxann?

simondgMemberIf you read my posting I believe you will realise your question is redundant.
simondgMemberAll brokers are salespeople, but the ones that were selling condos in the U.S until the bubble burst were merely playing their role in a bigger deceit..one masterminded by Alan Greespan. Clearly he wasn’t ringing the bell at the top of the market, so why blame the salesperson; without him Alan could never have pulled off the greatest scam in history..to convince the American public that they can have something for nothing…
simondgMemberSimilar deal? I thought we couldn’t look at the web site..so how would you know it’s a similar deal?
Explain to me exactly how a company on their third project is just a “marketing scheme”. Have you seen their project? Do you know anyone that has bought there? My guess would be no.
From the records on this forum I think it is quite clear that no one has lost their money on any of these projects to date. Why? Because these companies are, it seems, honouring an apparent pledge to fully refund. No one on this site has yet been clear about the contract term/period for refunds. The fact that it is allegedly taking them so long is quite frankly not surprising given the amount of doubt causing reports being thrown around; the consequences are of course obvious…more refunds. This situation will, if people continue in this manner, become a self-fulfilling prophecy where one of these companies will be forced to close and cause losses for prior investors.
So let’s keep casting doubt and continue bad mouthing and then we can all write posts about how we knew they were bad guys!!
I’m not saying they are angels but let’s have some balance; they appear to all be building their projects and delivering title etc…
If you don’t like the sales methods, hang up the phone.
I recall we had endless similar reports on Wellington Asset Mgnt over the last two years; to my knowledge, and please correct if I am wrong, no one lost money, the infrastructure was implemeted, and buyers have started if not completed building their homes.

simondgMemberaccording to the posting above no one has lost money with these people and they are on their third project; how about some balance in this forum. See how you like your business being bad mouthed for what would appear to be no apparent reason.

simondgMemberGiven the current apparent onslaught of cancellations it’s no wonder it’s taking time for them to liquidate refunds!!
How come so many of you are buying this product over the phone? The excuse that the salesman convinced you to is really rather lame; if you can’t say no who’s fault is that? So now you want to cancel; who’s wasting who’s time here? Greed applies on both ends of this sale it would seem to me.
simondgMemberIf they do “get those bastards down here” then at least the “bastards” had a chance to see the land with their own eyes; if they don’t like the deal and they still buy it then who’s fault is that?
