interesting points on all accounts

i know scott will refute this with his stats. but here is my observation based on my almost 10 years living and actually having brick and mortar business here. NO MORE!!

I grew up and spent the majority of my life living in the manhattan and the bronx and queens.

it is of my opinion that crime here is generally more dangerous than living in NYC.

    thats it

    simple

    say what you will

    in my almost 10 years of living here;

I have seen more robberies, more car accidents, more death in general and more crime than in my whole lifes experience put together.

now understand something. I have lived in the trenches here in costa rica having a brick and mortar business in san jose (AKA the armpit of costa rica) I have seen it all.

I don’t live in some penthouse cooped up in my little office preaching how safe and wonderful it is to live in costa rica.

actually scott I think your version of costa rica is very off.

but I do understand that this is your business and you need to pay the bills.

STILL… costa rica is the best place to be right now.

    why??

available and abundant food and water.. these are the last resources that cause people to really start to become desperate.

the crime here is good business. no one gets caught and if you are caught your out on the streets again.

    what are the solutions

well I could just carry my weapon…??

    but truthfully..

its better to just carry nothing when your walking around except some cash that you can afford to lose.. this way the crooks will take your cash and leave you alone.

    thanks

I have to agree with the averages

but my point and I have to say this.

my point and if you look at what is going on here. since crime is profitable and the laws do nothing.

it just makes sense to say that it will start to escalate and pick up with time.

anyway. i will not say anymore since i may be booted off the board for not aggreeing with the current mantra ๐Ÿ˜€

    maravilla

these were mid 20’s early 30s.

well dressed meaning they looked better dressed than I.

and I have to share something. before in another life I led a street type of lifestyle and am very savvy. but I guess my ole danger alert sensor is getting old

or maybe i am just tired of always being on guard

just need to make people aware of certain truths. so they can have perspective instead of the just pura vida mentality.

but all in all it could have been worse

I could have been shot :shock:

like al pacino in carlitos way..

    Sprite

I make a substantial (6 figures) monthly online and its set up to be very passive at this point.

I spend maybe if I am lucky 4 hours a per week on my business.

I dont tell people what I do simply because people cannot possibly fathom enjoying this kind of revenue passively.

BUT I don’t exploit anyone and in fact its doesnt even relate to the moving of physical goods.

just the willingness to always have an open mind and explore areas yo may not even be aware of and also

    never stop learning

sprite.. you seem to be someone that basically have come to the end of all your conclusions. meaning

this has been your personal experience so thus it must be reality.

    but my friend

    its not

    reality is indeed negotiable

and you can create your realities

    your purpose in life

and remember the past does not equal the future

very interesting statement. and under normal circumstances I would agree. it is of my true belief that there is no place on earth with the talent and drive as we have in america.

but this is not the point.

do we have the talent and technology to overcome all obstacles. YES!!!! but unfortunetly we do NOT have the political environment to nurture this

using a metaphor to describe this would be like the fertile ground in costa rica. the ground here is so rich and fertile..

I have banana tree’s growing in my front yard along with lemon tree,s mangos cas oranges.. and I don’t do anything for this to happen.

but now imagine the same scenario where groups of self interest companies that have been around a long time go forth and do everything they can whether thru lobbying, laws or paying someone NOT come out with something new.

and srangle this growth for whatever reasons..

over time and generations this will have an effect.

this is what is happening in america today.

our society now has become so detached to reality and what is going on that these are the results.

    its not brain surgery

and if someone just decided to take their head out of their asses and open their eyes they would see the truth. its all around.

look at this poor guy ron paul.. he will never get elected. I give him credit for his attempts. he was even asked a question in a debate if he thought as himself as electable?????

our current system will not allow this to happen.. I have actually watched media outlets talk about ron paul as he was some sort of misfit.. truly amazing this man speaks the truth and hard decisions need to be made..

but what are we to do.

    what can be done.

I think the U.S. will go through a major transition and there will be a time of pain and suffering but will remerge.. as just another country along the likes of russia and china and other emerging countries.

    like I keep saying

    for the moment

costa rica is the best choice to be in under the current circumstances.

here is a perfect example of how main street media handles someone who speak truths in todays plastic society

its almost like they ignore him. like he doesnt even exists. its hilarious if it wasn’t so damn sad.

    http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/mon-august-15-2011/indecision-2012—corn-polled-edition—ron-paul—the-top-tier?xrs=share_copy

ron paul is one of the few people that I have seen that actually speaks the truth.

its probably a good idea he does not get elected because he would probably be killed.

its really sad and it actually depresses me so i am not going to discuss this any longer

    yes.. its true

can you imagine sending your son to a war and he loses his life or comes back so damaged

and then find out it was all BULLSHIT

    I cannot even imagine this

I don’t know much but this I do know

I have seen enough times more than not that you NEVER take anything of face value ever!!!

I am careful of judging things knowing full well that we may not have all the information.

unfortunetly we live where society lives and takes action on “sound Bites” that is the reality

you have ignorant people all over that believe in thier actions..

you have people going around and trying to hurt that woman.. (what is her name??? who just got aquitted for the death of her child) and its not even her but someone who looks like her ๐Ÿ˜€

I never forget when 911 happened ( lets not get started on this) but I lived in NY at the time

and a large majority of Pakistans or muslums owed gas stations..and 7 elevens and all the misplaced anger and violence towards these people… even though they had nothing do to with anything except by chance fit a certain superficial profile.

    ignorance and the masses

This is what scares me the most

ignorant people and the masses. these 2 are deadly combo

I do love living here. its not perfect but one of the reasons is that costa rica is such a small country that no one really cares about invading it

I like that.. now if I can just find some good pizza ๐Ÿ˜€

when I first moved here i would tell everyone that they should move here..

nowadays I would rather have people NOT come here.. so I don’t say anything anymore..

    SERVE MY COUNTRY!!!!

aside from being taxed to death all my working life.. do you really think I or I would send one of my children to go and fight in someone’s war?? to become some fodder because some bureaucrat decided that there are weapons of mass destruction someplace so we need to go and invade.

I admire and have respect for all our soldiers because they believe in what they are doing.

but to ask such a question is ignorant.

and that is what scares me the most

ignorant people and the world is full of them.

this is what drives people all around the world to do stupid things..

    ignorance!!

they got you on this one my friend

the united states of america is indeed screwed its just that most people in the US are too busy with thier own lives to realize it until the shit hits the fan

    by the way

the only people that are dying to get into the U.S. are the less fortunate people.. people that really have nothing.

and the people that are migrating away from the US are the educated somewhat more affluent people. NOT rich.. just alittle more affluent.

costa ricans are very happy here and go visit the us for to visit

I still visit the US but I would never live there again.
