Sprite, as someone who was drafted in 1968 to serve in what i considered a bogus, immoral war, i too had 3 choices, service, jail or canada.
I choose to take my chances because i didn’t like jail or the cold of Canada. I would like for you to answer John’s question that you “resisted successfully” in your previous post. It would be something i might want to pass on to my offspring in future years. Our ex president, with his father’s help, joined the Texas National Guard. How did you do it? thanks mikespeedo5MemberHello Sunshine. You sound very excited about costa rica. I think you need to do quite a bit more research before you come. First of all , you can not legally work in costa rica at a job that might take wages from a costa rican. You can own a business that employs Ticos but you can’t work in it.Please use the search functions on this site and others to learn more about this aspect. good luck
speedo5MemberThere is quite a bit of info about Randy Berg on ARCR website, not much of it positive. check it out.
speedo5MemberThanks folks, i appreciate it.
speedo5MemberWho is that guy,Tom? Nice move. just joking.
speedo5MemberYes I do highly recommend George’s tour. He will cut through all the realtor hype and BS if you are seriously looking to retire in costa rica. As i said before , he won’t take you to the beach or high rise condos if that is what you desire, but you will go to some affordable places of various price ranges and meet some really nice fellow gringos and ticos. If you want to go to the beach, schedule that after the tour. It was too hot for me.
speedo5MemberWe went on George Lundquist’s tour in Jan 08. Visited Puriscal, Orisi Valley, Grecia,San Jose, and other areas of the central valley. We bought a place west of San Ramon with a killer view of the Pacific and Gulf of Nicoya . It’s worth checking out.
speedo5MemberI would suggest you check out the San Ramon area.
speedo5MemberI don’t quite understand the purpose of this post, but should i need an attorney, i prefer someone with a better understanding of the english language.
speedo5MemberI am shipping my vehicle soon. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Please tell me your story, i can handle it . thanks
speedo5MemberSprite, i am still waiting on another bid , but i will let you know when it is finalized.
speedo5MemberHey Sprite. Where is your property? We are starting our house in Rio Jesus this month. Agree with you guys about George. He is the unofficial Gringo Ambassador to C.R. in our opinion.
speedo5MemberCome on Imxploring! Sounds like you have been listening to too much ” Right Wing Hate Radio”. I suggest you do a little more research and get your facts straight. I don’t envy anyone who gets that job. It will take a miracle to undo the mess we are in. That being said, I am starting on my house in C.R. this month and let the chips fall where they may.
speedo5MemberWe took George’s tour in Jan 08. returned in may , bought property, and are in the process of building a house. George’s tour is a no nonsense , informative, and fun trip to the areas he considers good places for gringos to retire. If you want to live on the beach, he won’t take you there . Read my wife’s letter on George’s website . Mike Peace
Tulsa Oklahoma.speedo5MemberI agree with Scott. This is not the forum for this subject matter. Go get on Rush Limbarf or some other crackpot’s website.
