Is it possible that no one is satisfied with the type of government under which they live?
Living UNDER any superior power is not desirable. Governments are monsters, the bigger they get, the more hideous they become.

Governments operate solely by use of force. They don’t ever protect anyone but themselves. They don’t ever DO anything which does not directly increase their powers and control.

What you are seeing may be nothing more than the globalist leveling out of extremes into one big bland enslaved planet.

The value of any type of money is based on the confidence of the people using it. If there is no confidence whatsoever because society has completely broken down, then the only thing left is barter. Whatever is used as money or barter has to either have intrinsic value or actual value. Gold and silver have been used as money for 5000 years. Unless we enter into a radically different world wide paradigm, and we could, I suppose, gold and silver will retain the role of money when fiat paper currency dies ( and it always has died historically.

Being no expert on the subject I have to pick and choose those to whom I will listen for advice. I buy a little silver I buy a little stored food. I keep 1000 rounds of ammo on hand and I go to the target range every month. And even though it appears that collapse is a mathematical inevitability, The best thing that I can do for myself is to maintain hope that this does not happen anytime soon.

    I am not sure if you are joking or serious BUT, just in case;
how many dollars did you need to buy an ounce gold in 1973?
How many dollars DO you need to buy an ounce of gold today?

I don’t think Costa Rica is immune from the world economy. Price increase is a reflection of inflation, pure and simple.

Over the last 6 years, I have spent a little time each year in Costa Rica. The one aspect of life nearer the equator that bothers me a bit is how short the days seem and how long the nights are. It gets dark every day at 6 PM. It stays dark till 6 AM. The days seem to be cut short and there is not enough day light. Since I only sleep 5 or 6 hours a night, I awake at 3 AM and I am left with 3 long hours of darkness waiting to start my day. No matter how good Costa Rican coffee is, I can only drink so many cups waiting for the sun

I suppose after some time, one would get used to this. One would have to.
I am interested in what you all have experienced that have moved out of your respective countries by your fellow countryman?

Anger? bigotry? charges on being unpatriotic? pity?blank “why would you go there” stares?

I have heard many say that if you expat out, for work, personal or retirement, somehow you are unpatriotic and anti-___ (usually american). At a work lunch the other day, a lady I worked with said this, about a fellow that moved to Belize, saying something like “hey, he chose to move out of the USA and turn his back on this country, so he deserves what he gets”

Bare in mind, this is a black lady, Democrat, Obama supporter and early 30’s with college 4yr degree, not a Red state flag waving white Republican, though have heard this from both “sides” of political/racial groups…

I know some are envious, but has anyone gotten grief, etc?
Sounds like you might be living in one of those “red states”, camby.:D

Red state, blue state, right, left, fascists, communist….if you continue to think in these terms, you will never escape this circular paradigm they have set up for you. It is a big show put on to distract you from the reality of your enslavement and divide all of us from each other.

With these distractions, they intend to keep you voting uselessly, paying taxes to the banks and working for less and less value in return for your labor until your enslavement is so thorough, your dependence so complete, that even when you finally understand what was done to you,you will not be able to escape the hellish world they have planned for us..

Since we are discussing debt and money (in the case of the Dollar, one and the same thing), be aware that these concepts are not physical and as such can be manipulated right out of your possession by banks and governments (also pretty much one and the same thing these days). I keep only enough wealth in paper and digital form to cover my monthly expenses. Debit cards are digital, of course. I wouldn’t keep any additional wealth in a debit card beyond what my immediate needs require.

I have one credit card for car rentals. How do you buy airline tickets and car rentals and make hotel reservations? I tried a cash only and debit card only approach and it is impossible to do in this monetary paradigm.

Debt can be engaged and disengaged at will. Corporations do this as a matter of course all the time. If debt is looked at in this manner, it no longer has a controlling force.

Is the debt real? We are talking about slips of paper and digital journal entries between banks and governments. MONEY IS A CONCEPT, the main function of which is control. Debt is also a concept, the main function of which is control. In this sense, it is not real. We could just erase it all. It’s called a Jubilee and has been done throughout history.

Wow! Such bravado! I have never met a martyr.

I am not a martyr. I do what I can. I do not obey immoral laws except when obeying forced compliance makes sense. I have no wish to be sacrificed for a lost cause. I don’t think you do either. Put a gun to our heads, or threaten us with imprisonment, and we will obey or run away. But short of that extreme case, most of us who are aware we are ruled by criminals find ways to get around having to confront brute force.

I don’t vote, I don’t pay traffic fines, I “avoid” taxes where possible, I use cash and I have no respect for badges, uniforms or government unless there is a drawn gun involved.

When I was a young man protesting in the streets during the Ohio State riots of 1970, I stood up to a tank flanked by the Ohio National Guard with bayonets. I threw a rock at the tank and shouted some protest about the streets belonging to the people. When one of the soldiers shouted back “we’re gonna get you, longhair” and they all broke into a charge at me, I ran like hell.

Cowards are those who have a chance of success yet run away anyhow. Resistance fighters retreat from a superior force and live to fight another day. Slaves are not even aware there is a problem or that they are slaves. They pay their income tax and traffic fines and believe most of the garbage they are told by the corporate media.

Nobody is obliged to obey immoral laws and since forced compliance is not obedience, tipping a cop a few thousand colones for a friendly warning seems a civilized way of avoiding the issue.

Anyone who trusts a bank, any bank, deserves any losses incurred within that trust.

The whole point of HOLDING silver or gold is to HOLD it because bank paper is going to zero value. When that happens, and it always has, remember that bank boxes and their contents are legally the property of the bank.
