Our slave’s chains go all the way around the world, don’t they. How come this doesn’t seem to bother most people? It bugs the hell out of me.

your absolutely correct!!! it is your choice to strive to achieve whatever it is you want to achieve. you have to decide exactly what it is you want and devise a plan to get there and start. with the awareness to see what is working and not working and make the adjustments along the way.
there is a great quote I always remember that is soooo true in todays society
”True Maturity is achieved with the realization…. that no one is coming to the rescue”
Are you seriously saying that 90% or more of humanity prefers to live in poverty or that 90% or more of humanity is made up of lazy, stupid people..or both?
Why do you think we have had a series of revolutions throughout history? There has always been a predatory element within our species who feed on the herd, so to speak. They do nothing to advance our welfare and, in fact, have held us back at every turn. You are mouthing the propaganda that elite ruling class wants to hear from the enslaved masses. If you choose to side with these blood sucking masters, out of ignorance or out of self interest, you do so at the expense of the rest of humanity…and become the enemy of humanity,
spriteMemberThere are two general ways to NOT pay taxes on any income; One is called tax evasion and the other is called tax avoidance. While both are morally justifiable in my opinion, only one is legally justifiable in the opinion of the IRS and the corrupted Federal courts. As we all know, tax avoidance is basically the many loopholes that the rich and corporate owners of the system have created for themselves while there is little relief for the wage slaves. I am always disappointed in the general, apathetic response of the American public to this sorry state of affairs. I guess we deserve to be the slaves we are.
spriteMember
But Scott, what you failed to include is . . .
– You WILL pay U.S. income taxes on all your U.S.-taxable income received from any source in the world (but subject to the “Earned Income Tax Credit” which probably won’t apply in this case).
– The IRS Code DOES provide for the taxability of ALL income from any source in the world and paid to a U.S. citizen regardless of his or her country of residence.
– Your taxable income WILL include taxable pensions, the taxable part of your Social Security, taxable withdrawals from tax-deferred saving plans (IRAs, 401ks, etc). And . . .
– As a practical matter, you WILL NOT be able to avoid these U.S. taxes or we’da already done it.
Which is the “taxable part” of social security?
spriteMemberThere are social consequences for great disparities in wealth. However gentle and forgiving the Ticos are, hard times are coming and few can suffer the indignities of extreme poverty without moving to action while confronted with extreme luxury.
Extreme wealth is a great evil. It has no redeeming qualities. It comes from the exploitation of other human beings. That is the ONLY source and I would prefer not to see it in Costa Rica. I, for one, am deeply offended by opulence.
spriteMemberMike,
Those who still look to blame one political party or the other for what is happening do not understand the reality.
BOTH parties have been bought by the banking cartel and BOTH parties do the bidding of that interest. They can continue to play the US public as suckers by keeping them fighting with each other and distracted in a false two party paradigm, or any other false, designed paradigm they wish to create such as economic class, race and religion.I read that a lot of people are waking up but every day I am confronted with mainstream opinions which profess that we are no longer in a recession and that one party or the other can save the day. Man, you people have to open your eyes and look around. We are in a depression and it is going to get much worse soon. We have 22 % REAL unemployment and the fake world debt is well above 100 trillion dollars. This cannot be paid. The numbers I am told, do not lie. We would need five more planet earth populations to pay that off. So either we write off that debt or let the IMF move in and turn us into Argentina.
spriteMemberScott, I think they DO know what they are doing..and that is even more frightening.
spriteMemberAll of the suggestions and plans to “fix” things are a waste of time and would be doomed to fail anyway since they are based on the current monetary system in place, which is on the cusp of collapse. All of us are stuck in this monetized paradigm. All you are talking about is re-arranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.
There are a couple of opinions on what is happening. One opinion is that the people who run things (the rich and powerful) have made some bad decisions and we are all paying the price. The other opinion says that this monetary system is a tool of acquisition invented and controlled by elitists and the collapse is engineered to take possession of physical assets. There is ample historical evidence to support the latter opinion.
Both opinions agree on one thing, though: The only interest the rich and powerful have in you and I is grounded in what we can produce for them with our energy. Whether the collapse is engineered or is an accidental tragedy doesn’t change the outcome for us.
As far as I can tell, there is little or nothing that we can do to change the course of the world economy. Governments are corrupt, fiat currencies always, always inflate to zero value and, in due course, the rich get richer, power consolidates, and the poor get poorer…and eventually angrier and violent.
spriteMemberRegarding the “run down look” of the cities in CR, like 2bncr, I believe that after a while, you become used to seeing it and it starts to feel like your favorite old, tattered and frayed but comfortable pair of well worn blue jeans. There is just too much more important positive stuff which over ride the cosmetics of the architecture and infrastructure.

If you don’t agree that the majority of women do not asses a man finances before they date him then you may as well look up at the blue sky and tell me that it is pink.
How do poor men ever find a mate?
spriteMemberThis is a matter of relative importance and one should not confuse sexual intercourse with physical affection. This thread is about paying for sex, not about how couples develop and maintain interpersonal relationships.
I have been married for 29 years to the same woman. I do not feel that she is a prostitute practicing “veiled prostitution” in exchange for intimacy. That would be the mind set of a frustrated sex addict who is probably pestering his wife for constant gratification. Such a person needs therapy to be brought back to a more natural and peaceful state of mind…or perhaps he needs to find a similarly disturbed female.
spriteMemberThis should be simple to understand but, as with most addicts, admitting the addiction is difficult. Demand (sex or drugs)creates a market (addicts) and there are always business people (prostitutes or dealers) to satisfy market demand (addicts).
Sexual contact is not a health requirement and it is not even a requirement for a healthy marriage. Period. This is especially true for older adults. If you feel that you need it so badly and cannot get it in a natural, normal way (marriage), you may be an addict. Some societies accommodate this addiction. Costa Rica does.
spriteMemberThe cause of the sex trade is male immaturity and economic oppression of women. Any young male who solicits sex for money has one or more of any number of mental and emotional problems the most likely of which is a severe inferiority complex and any older male who solicits sex for money is either sexually addicted or also has self respect issues…ie; lack of emotional maturity. As as I said before, older men chasing younger women would be comical if it were not so sad.
Sex for recreation is no more significant than a bowel movement and not even necessary whereas a bowel movement is. Since some men inflate the importance of sex beyond its actual significance, it should be expected that some women will take advantage of this world view imbalance and profit from it. If you’re going to be stupid, expect to pay.
spriteMemberHehehe.. a Freudian slip made me type that anyway. I even had to check my spelling before posting.
spriteMemberYour so called “push back” is what is known as a fallacious argument because it does not address my points, rather it attempts to malign my sexual energies as some kind of proof for your argument.
Try using fewer emotional and unsubstantiated opinions (“can’t get it up?”) and less adjectives like “drivel” and, instead, use more facts and nouns. Otherwise, you just come off as a frustrated little child lacking the intellect to carry on a substantive conversation. And I suspect you can do better.
