while we remember the killers, let’s also rember their civilian victims. War today kills more civilians than assasin soldiers .

If you believe the article and video, do you believe that Social Security (already a known unsupported ponzi scheme) is actually going to offer a meaningful difference to your life? Just saying…
Do you think such a question would be relevant in a world where currencies will have defaulted everywhere? Imagine the social chaos in a world where governments and infrastructures are failing on every front. Our missing social security or pension income will not even register as a blip in such an environment. Social security income is barely meaningful as it is but at least it serves as a legal guarantee for residency as long as the current system stays afloat.
OK, now for the problem that my wife and I have been struggling with – and I really hope that Sprite does not have a suggetion that involves fire or witchcraft.

All of us have geckos in our house, and we know that they do some good, eating insects and other small vermin.

The problem is, or least the problem we are having, is that while they are on the wall or woodwork, before they poop on the floor, their “digestive process” leaves little orange spots or streaks on the walls.

We have tried several cleaning products, local suggestions, home-made remedies, etc. – all with little or no success.

    Anyone have the remedy?
Purchase a small dog or a cat. That should clear up the gecko population and ensuing pooh problem pretty quickly. My yorkie and toy pincer do not permit any smaller creatures to live very long within the walls of my Florida house. Of course, if you do get a dog, you must take it out for walkies or you will have a bigger mess to deal with than any gecko could make.

On the other hand, I like geckos. My yard is filled with brown anoles, a very small lizard which I think I have seen in lower altitudes in Costa Rica.

    smekuly,

I am NOT any kind of financial expert. I am just another worker slave who must participate and function within the system. I am only speculating on what to do since the dollar is bound to crash after the systemic failure reaches a certain level (so much additional currency has been created). The obvious increase of cost for commodities is the concern. Once credit fails, cash is king. The next step down in the spiral fall is for cash to fail. That leaves us with barter and only commodities will have value. If there is a step between currency failure and barter, please tell me about it. And I don’t understand how gold can ever come back into the equation after a systemic failure of the magnitude contemplated here.

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’d be quite happy if Google Earth would update their CR “Earth” Maps.

The one I use to view my new home site is several years out of date and quite useless! 😉

Other than that, may I suggest erecting a very strong fence? I know some Chinese & East Germans who are quite experienced in this sort of construction.
The Google Map of the San Ramon, Palmares, Naranjo area is a detailed photograph unlike much of the rest of the country. I have no idea what date it was taken but it has proved helpful to me.

I ask my attorney to drive into Naranjo each year and pay the $15. She always graciously agrees and I include an extra amount for her trouble. She emails me the receipt. I wish there were a way to do this myself on any of the multiple trips I make every year but I do not go in January.

The Contras were not the Nicaraguan government. And it could be argued that neither was the Somoza regime.
Property.. good location one that you can segment into smaller lots and sell

the sweet spot here is under $100,000 meaning if you have a large lot that can be broken up into smaller parcels that you can charge under $100,000 you have a good market

this has been my model now since I got off the brick and morter wagon.

i just sold 2 smaller 1000 meter lots for $80,000.

better than having money in a bank..
But you exchanged real property for fiat currency, land for paper, food and shelter for abstract numbers in cyberspace. And having money in the bank, or anywhere else for that matter, may not be such a good idea soon……

I admittedly have no proof or idea what exactly is going on but I pay attention to historic patterns and I disbelieve most official news reports. Do you take official news at surface value and never wonder if perhaps somebody is lying to you? Do you think my suggestion of covert US involvement in Central American affairs has been taken out of the blue and has no historic basis?

I accept the following as fact:

1.The Israeli’s have sold arms and training to many Central American countries with the notable exception of Nicaragua.

2.The United States supplied and trained Contra rebels with the aim of taking down the Nicaraguan government.

3.The United States and Israel are allies.

    4. The United States has been nominated to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the country which has initiated the MOST MILITARY FOREIGN INTERVENTIONS. There have been 180 landings by the US Marine Corp.

Considering the above, I would believe that anyone who does NOT have suspicions about US and Israel involvement when US soldiers and Israeli guns show up any where within 500 miles of any border conflict to be totally naive or brainwashed.

The last bit of precious metal (silver) in our currency was removed from the quarters in the mid sixties. There has been no gold in our currency for a long time. In fact, the government confiscated all the the gold in citizens’ hands in that year and supposedly stored it all in Fort Knox. For a long while, it was illegal for citizens to own gold as the government and banks converted the entire economy into a bankruptcy. Does anyone know what happened to all that gold? I have read that it was given to the banks in order to pay towards the government debt.

There is no real money in use today. We are using a fiat currency. We have been in a state of bankruptcy since 1933 and the only way we can pay bills today is with notes; credit notes and debit notes. Some examples of these notes are the dollars (debit notes which represent debt) and securities, of which promissory notes pertain. This is more significant that it appears when you consider that the banks and government have removed our means to settle debts except by notes. And guess who gets to print these notes and create the fiat money at will? Not the government. The private banks do this and there is no legal provision permitting them to do so. How do they get away with it?

Does anyone know anything about alleged close involvement between Israel and Costa Rica regarding Israel’s supplying military hardware and training to Costa Rica? I understand that Costa Rica has no armed forces but it keeps some heavier arms for certain police. Police armed with automatic weapons are currently stationed on the Nicaragua border.

Might the recent visit of the US Navy with the suspicious mission of medical assistance be related to the border activity (ie; unloading of material and/or personel) The only Central American country which dose not have some sort of arms buying relationship with Israel is Nicaragua and we are now seeing reports of possible Mossad (Israeli) involvement in this odd border dispute allegedly having to do with river dredging. River dredging? Really?

It is a problem of mine that I speed read for the essence of a communication and many times miss a detail. (You neglected to put quotes around the excerpt) But in this case I merely mis-identified the author but not his political leanings. Norm Chomsky, a well known leftist thinker, has also criticized Zeitgeist. Neither, as far as I can see, has offered to dispute the essence of the message. And how do you see this film as a right or left message? It is off the scale of the old way of measuring such things.

I am no authority so I search to find a valid argument contesting the substance of Zeitgeist. I have not yet found it so the thesis remains intact.

    Lotus,

Thanks for letting me read your analysis of Zeitgeist. I know of few people who have enough common sense and interest to take the time to view and understand enough to critique the ideas presented in that film.

You did not back up your claim, however, that all of the targets of economic hit men were aligned with the Soviet Union. That is not established fact and even if it could be established, with whom else could those people have aligned themselves against the monstrously huge U.S. force bearing down upon them? And in any case, whether or not they were Marxists has nothing to do with the subject matter being discussed which was the covert tactics used by so called capitalist banking interests and the ultimate destructive nature of those interests. I make no distinction any longer between governments participating in the world wide monetary system. They are all corrupted.

You also seemed to have skimmed over the section wherein it is explained why the profit motive is destructive and the solution to that problem. I must admit that I was also skeptical about the basis of the principles of the Venus project. It appears too utopian. But recent studies regarding human behavior seem to back up those principles and the movie briefly laid out an alternative to the current system of an economy of scarcity. You refer to a human history of behavior where people have grown accustomed to being rewarded for their labor and you infer that any new system must continue this practice. You confuse human behavior with human nature. There is no such thing as human nature and you are missing the point entirely. If people required profit to motivate them to do anything, then how do you explain a history of self sacrificing work done to benefit others. It happens. Scott performed such an action recently and wrote about it. People are not hard wired to require profit as a motivation and under the proper environment we could eliminate the profit motive and the resulting bad human behavior.

The free enterprise system is indeed dead. It never existed. The film used that term to describe the current system because that is the propaganda terminology that the Owners use to sell it. Zeitgeist does NOT ignore that reality. In fact, that is what the movie is about. You appear to be so immersed in the far right wing propagandist vocabulary and the associated misconceptions that you are unable to think outside of that box. Of course, the communist ideal is no better than the Nazi ideal which is no better than the current Capitalist ideal. They are all the same thing with slightly different flavors. As the film quotes ” you can have a country based on capitalism. Or you can have a country based on democracy. But you cannot have a country based on both.” Money corrupts all.

Utopian ideals are all that is left to us for consideration. You can hope that people will collectively choose to abandon the current economic model of scarcity, money and profit, relying on technology to save the day or you can stick with the system we have always had and try to tinker with it and tweak it. But the current system has self destruction built into it. The most that can be done with the current system is to delay the ultimate outcome. Like any pyramid scheme, the whole thing will come down completely. So we go back to the utopian ideals. That is all that is left us.
