Given time all books will mold and mildew in the heat in CR. If the books are special or rare….I would not bring them to CR. Books, Photos, CDs…..all will suffer the humid conditions in CR unless in temp controlled areas.(and that is expensive>)

    Good Luck with your move.

There are a lot of beautiful women in CR looking for an American Husband. For some of them it is a quest …. just to have the “Rich American Husband”.
They have the thought that ALL Americans are rolling in money. They expect to get it…..no matter what it takes! Be careful !! They see an American and assume you are rich and you will spend it on them.

Be aware of plots of “friendships”..Some of the Tico’s will take advantage of a gringo in a heartbeat.

A friend of ours got “rolled”. He fell “in love” with a lovely Tica. While he was sleeping…The lovely Tica and her boyfriend took all of his money, ID, Passport,Cloths and keys. They stole everything he had. The guy was heart broken alone with no money and no cloths.

Be carefull expecting a whirlwind romance. It could turn into a tornado FAST!!
    Good Luck !!

In Quepos there is a great little Emergency 2000/Proton 2000 Emergency Clinic near the grocery store Pali. Dr Candy & her partner are WONDERFUL. Over the past couple of years we have used them. My daughter used them. Then we took a sick teenager to see them. We were alway treated VERY well. Even on the 9pm Saturday Night trip…they were very kind. They speak English well. They are truely the nicest people in the medical field. USA ER people could take lessons from Dr Candy and group.

I had 2 ER trips for Vertigo “trips”
    with 2 injections and meds….total Cost $50.00.
My daughter had 2 ER trips for Ear infections…total cost $50.00.
Young tourist UTI..late on Saturday night….total cost $50.00.

I will recommend Dr Candy to ANYONE!!!!!! On each of these trips …it only took less than 30 minutes in and out of the door.

    What a BARGIN!!!!!!

We get our tickets dated for as long as possible. If you must return early….just call the airlines and change departure date. We have used Delta. It only cost $100.00 per ticket to change the date if needed. They will work with you as much as possible. Call the airlines and talk with a “person” discuss the issue. They may have a better idea. That has always worked very well with us.

One way tickets are usually expensive!! (Tried that one time)

Good luck with your adventure !!
We always have a BLAST!!! on each trip.

We have brought many types of food products for friends over the years. As long as it is not fresh fruit or fresh meat, I don’t think they care. We travel with a lot of our own “special” items. We have not had a problem. (yet).
