About 2 years ago, while in Peurto Viejo (Caribbean side) I ran into a couple from Quebec Canada. They were driving a pickup truck and towing a trailer. He spoke french and she spoke spanish fluently . They had mechanical problems in Nicaragua and got repairs done without inceident and at at a good price. Their plan was to continue to Panama and then head back up the west coast.
Basically they were doing a large circle of North and central America.
I don’t know how the return trip turned out but they were quite happy with their adventure to that point. Don’t drive @ night.
