I’m investing my time and money in local tech startups, because I believe in the people and know that profits will come eventually. I think that entrepeneurs have the same basic qualities regardless of location. One of the towns we’ve looking at as a possible place to live (some day) is Grecia, which is planning to implement wireless internet coverage. Now that’s exciting, the kind of people I’d be willing to work with.
Anyway, I think I’ve got my answer, and I appreciate the time reading this forum.
Cheers!
No, I was thinking more along the lines of helping entrepreneurs start businesses with seed capital. Along the lines of private funding, contracts, etc. Not taking companies public, not making loans, but more along the lines of mentoring and providing capital. For example, starting a textiles factory, the corporation would buy a percentage of ownership in the company as a partner, etc. In this way, local companies could get funding.
