for the most part the drains, toilets and sinks are sub-teranean.you can have your water supply in the roof crawl space.which is A sometimes practice, not normal or standard, just sometimes.alot of homes I’ve built come this way.the thing that is A must is that the print layout of your piping remain with the house and that you personally measure or have A liason measure for appropriate placing according to plan.I do that on all homes.my customers get detailed and noted plans just in-case they must do repairs.custom homes require this attention.I scope all plumbing and electrical routes for any emergency.the consumer is the bottom line to my sucess and the top line in my priority.take it for what it’s worth,I always told my customers to question question question my performance. If your contractor has 0 skills in PR you may on face seek another.bring back the consumer as the #1 priority.

monolithic slab.the relatively standard approach is to scratch the perimeter to A grade then form above the ground.Scott is correct as in the ground and code enforcement allow for it.simple cost effective method.you can request the upgrade, and in price also.yet it’s not A less than quality job.it makes for less trenching for plumbers and such.
p.s.it’ll give you some distance between the ground grade and floor grade.good for rainy season.

we own already and it is listed with the govenment site.the things you’ve mentioned as to land, soil, and topo has been taken into consideration. it is relatively flat for the region.the price reflects the quality of the land. were going for A month to just get started.
Iunderstand you when you say the wheel turns slow. thus the month stay. anything you can think of in regards to this venture I would enjoy hearing.
again thank you. your kindness in this matter is appreciated. their are some around who resent people coming there. funny thing is where did they come from. maybe they should punch themselves in the eye.lol

what are the restrictions on building your own house?I’m going to get the prints and necessary permits for the dwelling there. the reason I ask is I am capable of the task. I build for A living. I do my own drafting and design/engineering.I’ve built everything from specs to shopping centers. I am A hands on type contractor. not the sub it out type.I’ve literally done everything that it takes.I want to eliminate any problems ahead of time.

aren’t americans that don’t go throught the proper channels to stay in costa rica, and have been there for years illegal? and no better than the nica’s?why do they not research that? does owning A biz or being american change the rules to the game?

that seems fair. i’ve built pools ,actually i’ve built everything from doghouses to shopping centers.houses screen enclosures, just anything.give me blueprints and go home period. the reason I make this point is A swimming pool is an art.especially when you have rolling terrain and slopes.it may need berming or A retainer wall. you have infinite edges that are the rave now.from shooting grade to the diamond brite finish is not all the job.you’ll run into water. pools are the one phase of const. where you literally take the bad with the good.your profit is never safe. some jobs eat the profit.A good pool builder is worth his weight in gold to you.any specific questions, ask I’ll try to answer. building A house is repetitive motion. A pool, every job is unique and takes skill to forsee difficulties.
