Airport Security – This’ll make you feel much safer!
My wife and I returned to Costa Rica on Monday after having a wonderful time traveling around Europe on planes, trains and on our two feet.
Since the United Police States of America treats people like lepers with weeping sores and bad breath when entering the country, we and everybody we know avoid traveling into or through the U.S., which must be doing wonders for the ‘travel’ industry there.
Just to entertain the ‘authorities’ I like to fill out my immigration forms in both English and Spanish so, on the way to Madrid I was a Britanico and then on the way back I was Scottish – both are correct.
Jee! Jee!
To make life even more interesting for them, I ordered a ‘special’ Muslim meal for the Iberia flight to Madrid flight and a Kosher meal for the flight on the way back from Madrid so they’re probably quite confused by now…
Talking about confused, you’ve probably read the story about how “intelligent” our airline security people are, right?
You remember the story about Catherine Stevens who is the wife of Senator. Ted Stevens (R-AL)?
Stevens was chairman of the Senate committee that oversees airline industry regulation; his wife was held before boarding a flight because her name resembled the former stage name of singer Yusuf Islam, popularly known as Cat Stevens.
As my daughter used to say when she was little: “Like Duh!”
These total cretins who held up the Senator’s wife are also responsible for your family’s security when you fly!
These ‘trained’ security officers earning minimum wage will confiscate your nail clippers with a 1″ blade but allow you to walk on the plane with your 6″ titanium ballpoint pen which is a far more useful tool to push through the eyes and into the brain of someone you are trying to impress than a pair of tiny nail clippers.
Now don’t you feel much safer?
While the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has not managed to catch a single ‘terrorist’, almost 400 TSA officers have been fired for stealing from passengers since 2003.
Pythias Brown is a great example of this; “a former Transportation Security Administration officer at Newark Liberty International Airport, he spent four years stealing everything he could from luggage and security checkpoints…” At the time of his arrest, Brown was selling 80 cameras, video games and computers online on eBay.
So be careful out there!
