Living In Quepos And Enjoying The Open Fruit and Veggie Market
Get your gunny sack full of fresh fruits and veggies at the open market on the boardwalk of Quepos on friday evening or saturdays for a fraction of what it would cost in the supermarket!
Recently had my Japanese 74 year old mother relocate to Costa Rica, and she comments on how she is enjoying the tropical climate, healthy diet, and the warmth and friendliness of the people and local culture.
Quepos was one of the headquarters for United Fruit Company which set up shop for major banana production in 1930’s and for several decades after that.
Now Quepos and Manuel Antonio has become a thriving tourist destination with Manuel Antonio’s national park being the magnet with exotic white sand beaches backed by lush rainforest, and no shortage of wildlife.
Being a long time resident of Dominical just 30 minutes south, the completion of the coast highway allows me to visit the open market, fine restaurants, shopping, and much more…..
Adjacent to the open market is the new Pez Vela marina with capacity for 300 yachts, in construction on new hotel, and this type of major infrastructure is boosting the economy and setting the pace for major change in the Quepos – Manuel Antonio area.
Come and have a first hand experience for yourselves!
