Our American friends in the US tell us they have never seen so much advertising about Costa Rica in the USA.

Emails, direct mail and extensive television advertising…

This is good news, but unfortunately, mostly bad news.

It’s good news for the people advertising because they are selling a lot of land and they are raking in a LOT of money.

It’s good news because after doing research, many people very sensibly decide that “something’s not quite right with this picture,” but still maintain an interest in Costa Rica.

The bad news is that the majority of the people doing this are telephone boiler room operators who would have been pushing ‘pump and dump’ penny stock scams if they weren’t making so much money selling Costa Rica real estate. Most of their salespeople earn 10%+ on the sale and few have even visited Costa Rica.

How do I know? Dozens of their employees have told me so.

The fact that none of these companies seem to have real estate development experience whatsoever in any country, never mind in Costa Rica seems to get left out of their sales pitch.
