Retired in Costa Rica – Do you think I could find a mate online?
Thank God I was born during the time when people had to look at each other before falling in love!
We would not have been able to imagine being able to get that emotional feel about some one by they way they send e-mail messages. It was the way a guy or girl walked, it was the color of the eyes, how tall or how short, the sound of a voice, and if the guy had muscles and if the girl had hips and breast.
I really don’t know how people come up with the emotional pull you usually get when someone is ‘the one.’
Is there some sort of book on the secrets of falling in love on-line. Well, not love but how are you attracted on-line. Is it where the person puts their periods, their commas, dots and dashes?
You do realize when you reach a certain age you are out of the game. I’ve been out for a long time and I’m thinking about diving in but I need some help.
Tell me how do you fall in ‘love’ on line? The day I saw my husband there was everything about what I saw that made me know that he was ‘the one.’ No questions about it, I was the wonderful stupid age of 14.
It was his height, the way he walked, his complexion and his Dads’ car. These are qualities that just can not be reviewed on line. Oh yeah! Video and YouTube, I forgot all about that and you can actually talk to a person on line by way of that computer camera.
When I saw my mate it was a glance, it was someone that appeared on the scene. He was an awesome wonderful surprise. How do you get that sort of surprise and emotional feeling by looking at a video? That goes to show how times have changed. We found each other without the help of the Internet, that must almost be amazing these days.
And what is a soul mate? Can someone please explain to me how you find a soul mate? I thought the area of our being that is our soul is the realm of our feelings. Finding a soul mate sounds difficult to me because my feelings have changed about things many, many times during my years of life.
I actually believe that my search for a mate begin at the age of 5, that was when I first started dragging boys by the ear and slapping them around. Who ever shared their candy with me at that time I would fall in love with until he did something to make me mad.
At the age of 9 some guy by the name of Chauncey sent me my very first love note. You know the kind, the words ‘I love you’ sort of scribbled and a picture of a heart. You pass it during class time or at recess. It had to be read during school time because you just could not take it home.
My first boyfriends were always my enemies first. Have you ever figured it out why a little girl usually can not stand the boy before she likes him. How do they do it today? Do they text each other?
In those days you would need a chain of friends to assist in passing a note. You would build relationships in courtship, as I think about those were wonderful days. Most kids don’t need that because everyone has their individual telephone or Blackberry.
You meet someone and you tell him or her see you on line. No sneaking around the corner to have a conversation during class break. Man, what have they done to our children? The thrill of the hunt, it was so much fun being chased and chasing.
They even took away the challenge of making your breast look bigger. The guys don’t know anything about this. Girls, do you remember when you realized that making your breast look bigger would make you more attractive? Of course during those days it was an imagination as to why big breast was important.
You just knew the guys would watch you as you passed by. I was about 12 years old when I even knew I had breast. It was my friend Johnny who was about my 3rd serious boyfriend. I was a Tom girl and I used to wrestle and fight the boys all the time.
One time when I was wrestling Johnny he pinched my breast. He was about as intelligent as I was about sex. Well that was my last Tom girl wrestling match!
Now I knew for sure there was something really different about boys. My buddies were actually all my boyfriends at one time, from the age of 5 to about 12. Chauncey was my first kiss, which was terrible. During those days you had boyfriends but you did not dare kiss, if you did and Mom heard about it, your butt would be on “FIRE”. Major child abuse for sure, so kissing was off limits. One day I finally got adventurous enough to allow Chauncey to kiss me.
How do you make arrangements to meet each other around a tree these days? Johnny was the look-out, we were in the park by a big tree, how exciting. What do children do now? Well for one thing, it would appear that they are not as innocent as we were…
We were doing something we had not really seen, because at that time they did not kiss much in Disney movies and Bambi, Cinderella, and the Dwarfs did not kiss. It was really left up to our imagination. Do you remember that game spin the bottle? How do you get in all that fun by texting.
My young cousin met a guy and he asked her can I text you? Do Moms check text messages sent to their daughters? I know Ella Mae would have found a way to check our text messages.
Those days they did not talk to you about abstinence they legislated it.. In those days a ‘rubber’ was a a pair of boots you wore on rainy days, or when sloshing through the melted snow and pills were an unknown. We girls got excited when we could wear a bra, which was a brazier until the started burning them in the 60’s.
I talked to a young girl the other day and found out that girls no longer wear Kotex in their bra to make their bust larger. That was a real joke, man how did we make it. Now they have all the real things padded bras and plastic surgery.
I guess those things go along with the new ways of finding a mate on-line. Someone told me that you are as young as you think, so I’ve been discussing with myself since newly becoming single if I want to attempt to get in the courting race. With a little make up and some side shots I could look 20 years younger on a video…
Do you think perhaps I can emotionally arouse someone’s interest in me by texting or maybe perhaps a hot YouTube video?
