1. The Beach at Jaco.

   There is a certain calmness and relaxation found from living at the beach. Most people who make the move prefer the Central Pacific because of the opportunity to purchase fee simple beachfront and live right on the ocean. Living at the beach makes it feel like you are on a permanent vacation.

2. World class surfing.

   The Central Pacific is home to some of the best surfing in Central America. What most surfers really love are the warm waters, no bodysuit is EVER needed when surfing in these Pacific waters.

   Its not just the ocean waters that is warm. All year round you can count on warm weather. I grew up in Washington State so I can truly appreciate never having to encounter that bitter cold here.

4. Stunning sunsets over Jaco beach.

   Sometimes I think I take for granted our amazing sunsets. One of my favorite parts of living in the Central Pacific is taking a walk on the beach and taking in a sunset.



5. Great fishing.

   Our marina in Herradura is a popular destination for the avid fisherman. I’m not a huge fisherman myself, but its still always fun to do once in a while. Much like our surfing, the fishing out of the Central Pacific is consistent, with both bill fish and smaller fish.

6. Convenience and Amenities.

   I always explain to people that most beaches in Costa Rica are more like villages. Jaco is a full town with plenty of restaurants, clinics, gyms, theaters, services, golf course, and shopping which are very appreciated when you live here full time. Even if you choose to live outside of Jaco, having those conveniences and amenities are tremendous.

7. A slower pace.

   The pace of life in the Central Pacific is one the main reasons I chose to live here. No traffic, in fact there is not one stop light in the region! It’s rare to ever encounter someone that is in a rush, which creates for just a very laid back and calm atmosphere.

8. Proximity to San Jose.

   If you live at the beach full time you’ll appreciate being able to get to the city in a quick hour drive. With guests and travel to the airport, errands and shopping in the city, it’s very convenient to know you can get from the beach to the city in just about an hour, something that no other beach in the country can claim.



9. Recreation.

   If you are active and enjoy the outdoors, the Central Pacific is the spot for you. Besides surfing and fishing, most of us who live here are very active with activities like mountain biking, hiking, golfing, cycling, running, swimming, paddle-boarding, and yoga.

10. The community in Jaco.

    I think this really goes for all of Costa Rica, but the friendliness of everyone in this area is a big draw. The Central Pacific features a great mix of expats, locals, and San Jose clients with second homes. Because of all the reasons I just listed most people are generally happy and are seldom stressed, creating for a great community.
