Bob in Des Moines is an avid fisherman who visits Costa Rica frequently and he emailed me saying: “For goodness sake, don’t tell me wife we have snakes in Costa Rica. She HATES slippery, slithering, slimy snakes!”

Sounds like Bob’s not too keen on them either but I know people who have lived in Costa Rica for 20+ years who have never seen some of the beautiful critters that people complain about most…

You know! Critters like snakes, leeches, VAMPIRE bats, mosquitoes and I remember one time when I asked in the Discussion Forum what bothered people the most, VIP Member Sarah chimed in with:

  1. Bugs
  2. Big Bugs
  3. Hairy, Big Bugs
  4. Killer, Hairy Big Bugs
  5. Hungry, Killer, Hairy Big Bugs

Well Sarah, it might interest you to know that even if you tied three of their legs behind their back, the cockroaches we had on the Upper West Side of Manhattan where I lived in the 80’s could easily kick the living daylights out of any cockroach I’ve met so far in Costa Rica!

Feel better now?

My friend Ginnee who has her own farm on a zillion acres in the middle of nowhere emailed me a great photograph on Monday of a “critter” that ate one of her chickens whole.

You can even see exactly where the chicken is inside the animal’s stomach… After that meal, the animal is full, happy and a little sleepy… Ginnee just let it be and said that “it’s safe, and will live a good life in the forest on the edge of the farm.”

Warning for Bob in Des Moines!
Do NOT Let Your Wife See This Article!

For goodness sake Bob, do not let your wife look at Ginnee’s chicken thief which you can see here…
