Why Should This Be Important To You
When You Buy Your Home in Costa Rica?

Most of us prefer living in a home that is clean, secure and well managed.

We try to make sure that our own home is well maintained and we are not throwing our money away by unnecessarily spending too much on utilities and, surely the same thinking should apply to the overall geographical area in which we live.

The roads should be well maintained, area should be well cared for, parks should be clean and not dangerous so the children can play there and the parents don’t have to worry about their safety, the trash should be collected and the inhabitants – your neighbors – should be paying the taxes that they are obliged to pay.

Lastly, when you are in the market to sell your home, it will help tremendously when you when you can say that you live in an area that is located in one of the best managed municipalities in Costa Rica where real estate prices will more than likely appreciate much more than a municipality that is not well managed.

Thanks, Scott, for the information about the rankings of the best municipalities in which to live. I own a piece of property up at Lake Arenal, out in the country near a little — and I do mean little — town called Tronadora. It is too small to be on this listing, but the next major town, where much of the governmental business is conducted, is TIlaran. And it is listed in the “D” category, which of course is discouraging. But, it is really helpful to know, now.
I always appreciate the help you give to us “newsy”!
